Dr. Thompson is one of the best professors at ECU. All of you people describing her as some type of monster obviously don't need to be in college. Her class is hard because she wants you to learn. If you actually apply yourself it will be a very enlightening experience. This isn't high school anymore. If your serious about your education, take her.

This is the worst teacher I have ever had. She provided no help and when you ask for help she tells you to read the chapter. A girl once asked to go to the bathroom because she didn't feel well and she said yes but then counter her absent for the day. She cused me out in front of the class because I left class to take an important phone call.

I am taking Biology Online; The online work is fairly easy to do, The labs start out easy but then get hard because the labs are not about anything that your are reading/studing about. she doesnt help except to say read this chapter... Not even to that chapter yet... Not even covering that chapter. DONT TAKE HER_ TEST ARE EXTREMLY Hard..

I'm a 4.0 student. Scratch that. I WAS a 4.0 student. I had an 89% in her class. I would study for days before her tests, making notecards and reviewing the material, yet I still bombed the tests. When I asked her if there was ANY extra credit I could do to bring up my grade that tiny bit, her response was, "Study harder." No help at all. Word of advice: don't take this class online!

Her class is the hardest class I have ever taken. She never seemed interested in helping students. Her answers to your questions were very indirect and useless. I worked my butt off to get the grade I got. I do not recommend taking her class.

If you know how to study she is actually a great teacher! To tell everyone the truth, the biology department isn't doing so hot right now when compared to other universities. I honestly think that it's a combination of lazy students and bad teachers. Thompson IS NOT a bad teacher,one of the few good ones in the department. You're supposed to work!

I had Thompson for a sub in Biology lab and she actually made me cry. She actually told me that I was stupid for not already knowing the material. I asked her for help on a problem and she refused to help me and told me I might as well drop out of college because I was *so* stupid. Worst professor in the universe.

She is worthless. She will ask a question and when a student answers she will answer with a question and drill the student over material not covered yet in front of the whole class. She is lazy, making students write the notes on the board themselves and make powerpoint for her to teach off of. She doesn't give any kind of a review before a test.

Dr. Thompson is a FANTASTIC professor. She is one of the most intelligent people I've known. I guarantee that if you apply yourself, study (and no, not an hour before class), and go to her when you need help (not your friends) you will do very well in her class. If you don't then you deserve to fail.

I had her for General Botany and as you've read, it's a hard class. Expect to study a lot for her exams and then three times as much for the final. After she gets to know you she is generally a nice person (but didn't seem nice at first). You'll need good study habits to do well in her class.
