An all-around wonderful person and amazing professor. Deeply cares about all of his students (not just a tiny inner circle as seems to be the default in music circles), has a wealth of fascinating knowledge to share, and makes every class engaging. 11/10 would recommend.

Dr. Dixon is by far one of my favorite teachers at Messiah. I went into his SSET class with very little music theory knowledge and he made it as easy as he could. The material is hard and you do have to practice, but he makes the tests based off the exact melodies in the text book. If you practice and have an ear for music, it's an easy 1 credit.

Dr. Dixon is an amazing conductor, educator and person. He really wants to get to know you and will be there for you in anyway he can be, regardless of what pressures may be on him at the time. Take as many classes/ensembles with him as you can. He's the best professor in the music department as far as I'm concerned.

Dr. Dixon is an amazing teacher and a wonderful person. Cares about his students deeply and is quick to give extensions if you're sick or having a personal crisis. Great sense of humor, awesome conductor, and has a fabulous array of accents. Will listen to you if you're having a personal problem. Very helpful, connects with his students personally.

Okay, music through strings and orchestra. If more than half the class gets a question wrong, he throws out the question-don't recommend sabotaging a test so all questions are thrown out, however. Great conductor for orchestra, random sense of humor
