Idk how he has a good rating.. his lectures are way too long and is all over the place and it's hard to read his chicken scratch writing. No homework, your grade is based off of 2 tests... so if you bomb those two tests you basically fail..... he's a little strange, he makes some funny jokes & guzzles down his diet coke all class. Don't skip class

I did not pay for college to listen to a professional utilize vulgar language. Class was extremely unstructured, does not use the book, notes on the board were from his head, and unclear, all over the place. need to attend every class, examples used in class were ludicrous. Purple people eaters does not explain anything to me. Waste of money!!!!!

For someone who does not enjoy school, I really enjoyed his class. He has a midterm, final, and a paper that he assigns. He also gave my class an extra paper (OPTIONAL). I passed his class with flying colors. I never used my textbook. Loved his class, he is a very nice guy!

Awesome professor with a personality like no other. Easy going and very culturally diverse and conscientious. Two tests and a paper, take notes but study your own material because sometimes he could be a little too into his topic and not go over the material.

Prof. Jacobs is definitely eccentric... you will either love him or hate him. Personally, I liked him. He makes the lectures interesting and funny and he is really knowledgeable. You never talk about the assigned readings so don't bother doing them. He only has the midterm, a paper, and the final so you need to do well to pass.

Professor Jacobs is an excellent teacher at NVCC. His class structure is pretty easy but leaves little room for mistakes. His entire grading structure is based off two exams, a midterm and a final, as well as a final research paper that is usually no more that 4-6 pages long. His lectures are entertaining and he loves when people engage with him.

His lectures are amazing! he is hilarious and incredibly down to earth. Very passionate about what he teaches, and would talk to you for hours in his office about Anthro if you wanted. There are only two tests, both of which he provides study guides. H e grades fairly study and youll do well. The rest of his grade is based on an end of the semestd

I took Professor Jacobs for both intro to anthropology and cultural anthropology. He's amazing, he's so fun and crazy! His stories are wild and really make you think about the world in a way that most of us never have before. There were only 3 grades, Mid-Term, Final, and a project but if you put in effort on those then you're golden!

Tim is one of the greatest professors I have ever had. I took him for Anthropology, Contemporary Social Issues and Social Inequality. HMWK=Readings. Expects students to read what they will from txtbk (You know, like a college student.) Always helps with exam prep. Classes are great fun, if you engage in class conversation then you'll have a blast

Terrible teacher. All he does is talk the whole class and we take notes. Not my style of class at all. I would rather want homework than depend on my notes. If you write great notes (not me) than take this class.

Took him for "Soc. Of The Family" class 2013 Spring Sem. Really great teacher. Makes the classes interesting. Interacts with the class and does not come off stand-offish. He keeps it real. If you want an A grade on his exams, take VERY good notes during class. Does not really use the text book much. Would take him again if needed to. Awesome job.

First, do NOT waste any money on the textbook - it is not used at all. The instructor is very interesting and tries to engage the class in discussions on marriage and family. This did turn into a sex education class which i found not to be interesting or useful. Go to class - take good notes and you will do fine.

Prof. Jacobs is a great teacher. Go to class and takes notes is the best advice I can give. There is no homework and you do not use the textbook at all. He is actually pretty funny and will surprise you with his jokes. There are 2 tests, one paper and one extra credit paper. Go in, take notes, and study and you'll be fine.

Tim Jacobs is without a doubt one of my most memorable professors of all time! He is extremely politically fair in all of the information that he presents in class. You will be amazed at how much common-sensical information you learn in his class. I was always excited to go to his class and learn more! His teaching style is one in which he exp

Taking good notes is a MUST! Write down everything he says: vocab, examples, explanations, etc. Tests are easy as long as you take good notes and study a little. Never used the book. Two tests, two easy papers. He is passionate about the material and has a good sense of humor!
