Yes he does talk about drugs in his class, but remember this is a class about different countries and cultures. Some countries do involve the production of drugs into their culture. Ever heard of Columbia? The people bashing him probably didn't pay attention or didn't show up and did lousy. Show up, take notes and study and you'll do fine.

I thought Prof. Pitts was hard but fair. He told you everything you needed to know for every exam. Maps and Readings were homework, both could be done online, and you could do it as many times as you needed to get a perfect score. Tests were hard, but if you did the homework and took good notes, the tests were pretty easy.

Immature, unprofessional. Tries to impress us, rather then educate us. Enjoys telling stories about drinking & drugs. Creates his own information. For example he says Florida is not a southern state. Short temper. Flips out if not enough people respond to his questions. Readings are informational but asks detailed questions rather then the big pic.

absolutly horrible. i think he was the absolute worst professor id ever had. he acted like he was a hot shot because he traveled places and then taught useless knowledge. he said noone should get about a c and is a jerk to the class. i wouldnt recommend him to ANYONE!

I thought it was an interesting class. I like to travel so I found the material very insightful and helpful. To do well on the tests you should take more notes than what he has on the slideshow. Mostly his side comments are on the tests.

Prof. sucked. Would not recommend this class with him to any one. He is very unclear and the things he talks about are just dumb. Did not learn anything in this class, except drugs. He calls the class names if yu do not know the answer to questions. Horrible prof. Would never take another class with him. Such a boring class.

His tests are stupid, his lectures are soo boring! He puts the stuff he covers the least on the test and they are all short answer/ multiple choice. He even said noone should get above a C because we dont know enough information, but isnt that y hes teaching us?

overall, not a bad guy. he stutters to the point it makes you want to scream. all of his tests are fill in the blank/short answer. i don't feel like i'm learning as much as i should be, but what he does teach is interesting. he always urges people to raise their hands and make comments, but then interrupts you while you're talking. eh, whatever!

Gives you powerpoint notes online, so there is no point for you not to have the notes. He laughs at his own jokes. I learned a lot in this class, and he gives you a lot of opportunities to make points for the class. Especially if you have good attendance. The only topic of interest for me was when he talked about drugs.LOL.

good class. he promotes discussion, which kept me interested all semester. however his exercises are a bit tedious, and its difficult to get full credit on them. if you want to ace the exams, you had better know the lectures frontwards and backwards.

His tests for this class are short essays and he has an anal grading mindset as far as tests go. You do get 20 pts for showing up which is the only thing that will help you pass.

Good professor, but boring. He expects you to participate but it isnt part of your grade, or he doesnt tell you this. Read the book, and your notes. Tests are FILL IN THE BLANK, and no theres not a word bank. Most of my class averaged a 64 but his other work boosts ur grade by one or two.
