Overall great prof. Responds to email quickly almost any time of day, eager to help, drones on a bit in class but has good info. Makes class fun and is respectful of students. Not a really hard class (though I was overqualified to take it). Grading is fairly easy and average is around 80%+.

Excellent teacher. It's clear that he knows the material that he's teaching inside and out, and he's very helpful whenever you have questions.

Budd is an extreamly interesting teacher and does a good job of presenting the material. While the programming assignments are not that thought intensive the lectures make up for it. He is by far one of the best professors in the EECS department.

Dr. Budd is one of the best teachers at OSU. He's friendly, helpful, and an all-around great guy. The only downside is his programming assignments read they were written by a chimp but he gives excellent clarifications when asked.

Awesome prof! Lectures are clear and concise, even if his programming assignments aren't. Be sure to read all emails regarding the programs where he clarifies most of the confusing parts.

Very good advisor. Very friendly, goes above and beyond for me, and tries to help me out. He'll discuss my options with me, and make helpful suggestions that I hadn't thought of before. Great guy to have as an advisor! Haven't had him as a teacher, but hope that I will before I graduate.

Terrible teacher. Reads off his powerpoint slides and then gives tests that have nothing to do with the reviews he gives. The only time he is helpful is answering questions about program assignments MAYBE. I will never take a class from him again.

Wow, this guy is terrible. His tests are all over the place. Sometimes really easy, sometimes really hard, don't pay any attention to any review sheets he gives you either, they don't help. Has a terrible grading scheme. 90% of this class is review of CS 161. He cant even figure out how to turn off autoformatting in powerpoint. This guy is horrible

More concerned with how many books he has written/got a G5 mac & been to France. Not prepaired for lectures/forgot to grade assignment/gives short handouts w/no teaching/office hours unfriendly/disrespectful to students in front of others. Exams always include material not covered.WORST CS PROF YET!

I don't know what everyone is on here, but this teacher is horrible. He NEVER was around to help, he was more worried about his next book than my learning of the material. Office was un-welcoming and hard to ask for help. Bad teaching style as well. Avoid this guy at all cost.

Replies to emails very quickly and offers help when needed. One of the better profs I've experienced so far. The only downside is the often dry lectures.

Difficult class, challenging programming assignments, hard-to-understand lectures, BUT... the guy still knows how to teach. His homework really guides you through the process. I'm extra-happy I didn't have Ewrig: Haskell = crap.
