People seem to enjoy him and he's not a hard professor, but his jokes get annoying cause he's not that funny. His lectures are awful to sit through, I struggle keeping my eyes open because he just talks at you the whole time. If you ask a question, he'll just go off on a tangent. He doesn't require you to participate or read the plays though!

Dr. Viator was a wonderful professor who truly is passionate about what he is teaching. Shakespeare is pretty hard, but he provides tools for students to succeed. He is always up for questions. He will work with you as long as you are demonstrating your commitment to learning and aren't cutting corners. He confirmed for me that I'd like to teach.

I don't think you can really get the full English experience at Rowan University unless you take a class with this man. He makes a lot of jokes, is very passionate about what he teaches, and is overall such a kind-hearted man and I respect him so much. Brit Lit's I and II are a little reading heavy, but it's not unmanageable. Great Professor!!

Dr. Viator, as you have probably heard, is the most adorable and sweet man. He is always an 8 am class, but he makes it worth it! I took him all 4 years for because I loved him so much. He also usually only has 2 essays and 1 or 2 tests and that's it for actual work. He is a fair grader and you will pass as long as you show up and participate.

Dr. Viator is a lovable goofball. Great rapport with students. Knows his stuff and looks at things through a unique lens. If you're looking to delve into Shakespeare in a boring, traditional and overtly scholarly way, Viator isn't your guy. Who else would teach Romeo and Juliet as a comedy? Class was easy. Vocab test and 2 fun papers

it was a great privilege to be in this class. I loved every minute of it. Viator is hilarious and really knows Shakespeare. If you don't like Shakespeare, Viator makes the material easier to understand. Papers were easy and fun to write, which is not like other English papers. There is only one test and it is super easy! Definitely would recommend.

Such a great professor. The reading requirements are not overly demanding, and there wasn't much to turn in. He's very socially conscious, so funny, and respectful to his students. I would take him again, and I would recommend him to anyone for sure.

Viator is nice, and he tells a lot of jokes. They're not funny, but you'll laugh anyway to make him feel good. He's a very easy grader, and will let you turn something in late if you just ask. Very understanding. Still, I wouldn't take him again because his class is too easy, and I'd rather be challenged than get an easy A. Nice guy, though.

one of the best professors I have ever had! he is soooo funny and keeps you interested the whole class period. It is so clear that he cares about the students and wants us to learn and enjoy the class. I am def taking him again if possible for my other English courses!

This professor's Shakespeare 1 class was amazing. Like everyone else says, he gave out 1 test and 2 papers which he tests your understanding of the text. Make sure to attend every class! I would definitely recommend this professor. He offers extra help and extends date of papers if the due date is too soon. I got an A in his class :)

Dr Viator is amazing. As an English major, I have been in numerous other English classes. No professor has been like Viator. He gives a midterm, a final and one paper. Only three grades to determine your grade may seem intimidating, but trust me it's not. Read the texts, take good notes, study what he tells you to study and you'll pass. Must take!!

He's awkwardly funny, making him relatable and approachable. He's a rare professor that actually understands we have other classes and jobs and lives. Long lectures, but that's what English courses are about. It's relatively boring material, but he kept me interested. He is more about overarching themes than about the tiny details, which is great.

Dr. Viator is amazing! His approach to teaching Shakespeare made the material more interesting than I could've imagined. Dr. Viator not only cares about the material, but also about the students receiving the material. Attendance isn't mandatory but it can only help you. Don't fear an 8:00 am class. It's an awesome way to start the day!

Professor Viator always makes class very interesting. He is very funny and uses jokes to help you understand the material. I enjoyed having him as a professor. If I could change one thing about his class it would be that your entire grade is not based off of two papers.

Viator knows a lot about the subject. His class is fun and laid back. It can get off topic at times and in shakes2 we did not always talk directly about the text, more about overarching ideas. He is very concerned about students doing well and will help anyone out.

Shakespeare I. He gets you to think about Shakespeare's plays in a different way. Almost like a director in how you learn to interpret overarching elements. Just make sure you follow his paper format. He blind grades, so not very helpful to go to. But, makes the subject interesting and challenging so that it is worth it. 1 test, 2 papers.

He's an absolutely amazing teacher. Take him if you can. I had him for Genre Studies: Drama and plan to take another class that he is teaching next semester. He uses humor to teach, and it's very effective. I didn't read the books, and I'm doing well in the class. If you like drama, not reading the books will not be an issue. TAKE HIS CLASSES!
