All my years at Macomb I can say Todd is my favorite professor. He is an excellent teacher and artist and I learned alot being in class!!!!! He is awesome and I recommend him to anybody that has to take a drawing class.

I've had him for a few classes and even though some students don't like him, he really is a nice guy. He has one of the best teaching methods and as long as you show up and do the work you will be fine. He lays out a perfect gradient to learn technical skills while improving your own style. Don't take him if you wanna draw anime or sleep in class.

Todd's definitely an artist & his personality show it: VERY moody. He has his good days & bad. I tried to make a connection with him because I sincerely want to learn, but he responds so shortly, sometimes before I can finish my 1st & only question that day. I'll take his classes again, but with my guard up. Don't take this class if you love art.

Todd is the best professor I've ever had. He is a super hard grader and he's kind of a pain to deal with... That being said, he knows his stuff. If you put in the work, it'll pay off. I recommend everyone to take his sculpture class. Best prof. for sculpture in Michigan!

I learned a lot and became a better artist. Use class time wisely. You don't need to know how to draw. As long as you put in the effort you should do well. Attendance is apart of your grade. If you turn projects in on time you have the chance to redo them for a better grade. You have to fill a sketchbook in sections, do NOT let yourself get behind.

For a beginning sculpture class, this professor expects too much. My interactions with him were hit or miss depending on the day. Sometimes I'd ask a question and get a helpful response, other days I'd just get sarcasm. Also, he's unwilling to work with you if you want to improve an assignment after critique, which is really disappointing.

Let me just say that Mr. Mitchell is not a bad professor. However, this man definitely says what he thinks whether the criticism is constructive or not. For a Sculpture 1 class, this man expects a LOT out of you. So if woodworking and metalworking are NOT your thing, you're better off taking this credit at a different community college.

Overall I passed this class with a high grade from working very hard! But, he is very difficult to hear feedback out of. Not to mention gives lots of work to do, so this is not a class for slackers. Lastly, i disliked his inability to give the students almost no creative freedom. This is an art class so let the students have at least SOME of that!

I had been working on my final drawing in class for about two weeks and finally finished. I went to show him the finished product and said "look it's all done!" And he looks at me and says "ok can you turn it in over there?" Made me so mad I will never take his class again.

This class was tough, but that's why it was great. If you pay attention when he tells you to and work hard, you'll improve by leaps and bounds. He tells you what to do and leaves all the creativity up to you. If you put in the work and show him respect, he'll respect you, and you'll learn what it means to create art. His class is not for the lazy.

For art 1060, he will make you do 3 drawing a day, everyday for the whole semester for homework only. Class assignments are tedious and boring, and he is a really tough grader and rude when you ask a question or make a mistake. Only good thing is he allows us to redo assignments. I was the best artist in high school and he made me hate art.

This guy is awesome. Explains EVERYTHING in detail, gives a TON of extra credit, and super helpful outside of class. You don't need the book unless you're a horrible note-taking person. A lot of work but absolutely doable and interesting. I came in this class with zero appreciation for art and now I have a deeper understanding of it. Thanks Todd!
