The reviews are correct, but either you like him or you don't. Academics wise- he is very easy, you can go to class but he gave us a book with all of our presentations and homework so you can survive w/o going. 3 +F Exams, optional homework(very helpful for review). He made us do practice tests in classes that were before tests, offers help during.

Comment:

Todd Sayre is very blunt and straight forward about the outline of the class. He teaches fast and calls on people randomly, so be prepared. The graded course work depends on solely exams. Attendance is not mandatory but he only shows his specific visual outlines of the chapters in class. These visuals are key to doing well on all exams.

Your grade is 3 exams, optional to take final. The lectures in class rarely make sense right away and if you're lost he might make you feel dumb about it. Starts each class with an unrelated discussion, about 30min. OK guy/professor but is quite a character. Only take if you're confident in accounting/a fast learner. Do suggested HW & extra credit.

NEVER IN YOUR LIFE EVEN CONSIDER THIS CLASS. he is the worst class ever. you get three chances to do well and will not because he makes the tests so hard and impossible. he only talks about health and socialism. does not care about you or how well you will do in the class.

He is a great accounting professor, but I could have done without his rants. He really pushes his views on you and doesn't accept anything else. However, I still recommend you take him since he is a great professor and makes accounting easier to learn.

Comment:

I took accelerated Managerial Accounting with Professor Sayre this summer and thought he was just alright. He jumped around a lot (potentially because the classes were so long) and spent a lot of time talking about stuff that was not important. He frequently got the answers to questions wrong and the class would have to point out his errors.

Comment:

Sayre convinced me to major in accounting! Definitely take him if ur a business major. He's very matter-of-fact, explains the concepts clearly with lots of examples. Funny and interesting guy, really wants to help out his students. If you go to class and pay attention you don't need to read the textbook/do the homework. Tests are reasonable.

Take him for Sustainable Business! The class is awesome. If you read all the stuff and actually try, you will get a good grade and learn some really cool things. He's an understanding guy, but is very passionate about the subject. Sometimes he does go on tangents, but it's not that hard to bring him back. I recommend this class to everyone

He's a really cool/fun teacher. I found that if you listen in class and ACTUALLY understand everything, you should do OK. There are 3 exams and a final. Your grade is based on these exams, which i didn't like. If you bombed one, you're grade drops a lot. definitely not an easy A, but you will learn about accounting regardless.

goes on tangents all the time. i had a four hour with him every monday and half the class he would argue/debate with people for hours. class would start 45 minutes late. likes to argue. i've learned more about how and why to hate a corporation than i did about accounting. im screwed for accounting 2

chill guy but don't take him if you are an accounting major or actually want to learn accounting, he doesn't teach anything. I hated going to his class especially for 4 hrs a night. Super boring, and we do some stupid project that has zero to do with accounting... I do not recommend him you will learn nothing.

I loved him, but I can understand why some people don't. If you want an automatic B, or an extremely easy A, take him. Also, if you are into MMA, take him. He often goes of on funny tangents, but when they aren't nostalgic stories they are actually relevant and interesting. Optional attendance. Tests are a little confusing, but I didn't study.
