Thorough and engaged. Frequent email updates. Not easy but willing to help. Challenges students to be their best. Provides clear instructions with plenty of supplemental materials. A bit grouchy. Fair grader. Feared he would be an unfair grader based on his style of feedback (giving compliments may cause him actual pain), but he DID grade fairly!

Rude teacher, humiliates students. Doesn't teach clear and for an intro class it is very hard. Would not ever take him again.

Very easy class and a very easy professor! You could do everything at home and only show up for the quizzes and still pass the class with a 4.0. Mr. Forsythe is not very helpful because everything is outlined in the book.

Grades tough and fair for the programs and teaches you what you need to know. The final fir this class is absurd none one writes programs with pencil & paper, this cost me my A it's just strange without a compiler or even notepad. If you did badly in COMS170 online go to the RTC if you do badly in person find another profession then programming.

Definitely not a great teacher. Shows powerpoints with notes and then lets you loose occasionally helps you out if you need it. has an annoying combover that he has to fix every couple minutes. careless he lost my first exam before even grading it. bit of an ass too took points off of what i turned in cause he claimed I just wrote random stuff down

Easiest class ever. It is practically impossible to fail this class unless you don't turn in your work and you don't study for his exams. You don't even have to go to class everyday as long as you turn your work in. But, you do have to show up on test days. HIGHLY recommend this professor.

Best professor I have ever seen. If you don't understand the material after taking one of his classes, you either weren't present or didn't try. Knows his subjects inside out, and makes sure you do too.

If you pay for college courses and instead like to sit and listen to someone with an overly inflated ego talk about football for an hour and a half, than this instructor will be your favorite. However, if you pay for those classes and come to 2 hour classes because you wanted to learn something, go with any other teacher at Mott.

There is no way to fail this class. Do the work, turn it in you'll get a A. He gives you all the study guides a month prior to any tests. If you fail this class it's ONLY because you didn't come to class. Everyone who needs a computer class should take him. Fantastic!!

Forsythe is the man... really knows his stuff. always has time to help if your willing to ask. ive taken two of his classes already, and i wish i could have more. has a dry humor, but you get used to it. 170 is tough, but if you do the practice assignments, and dont miss class, you should do fine. and if u ever have a problem, see him at his office

He is very nice and funny, although it's sort of dry humor. I only attended class up til the midterm, then the last week of class, and still got a 4.0. He accepted my late programs without docking any points, very nice of him! If I decide to do more computer science classes, I will definitely look for him again. He is very understanding.

Great guy. Happens to get off track a little, but he gets through the content. Attendance is a must if you want to understand. Some of his explainations are confusing, but that is the nature of the class.
