Hoberg is great. Easiest professor I've ever taken. Show up if you feel like it, but be sure to be in class (or know someone who is) when he gives out paper assignments. Papers are easy, he just wants you to put legitimate thoughts about the texts.

I love him and will continue to take any class that he offers. He is funny, interesting, and best of all, easy. Tests have been take home with a lot of easy essay questions. he is a very understanding teacher and loves what he does. TAKE HIM!

He lectured (sometimes off-topic), we listened. We wrote our own essay questions for the final, were graded on the questions & how well we answered them. I think this is lazy teaching. He was also almost always tardy to class & kept the class after the time allotment. I loved the material we covered, but would have preferred a different instructor.

EASY. Grades only on take-home exams. If you mess up on an exam, he'll let you do it again. On top of that, he usually ends up cutting out an exam or two from the course. Will let you hand in things pretty much whenever you want with no questions asked. Some find him boring, but I found him pretty damn hilarious at times. SUPER laid-back.

Hoberg is a very smart man but his classes are EXTREMELY BORING!You dont even understand what he is saying half the time.You can attend the week of finals and he will not realize you missed half the semester.Better read the material on your own.He is kind of rude sometimes.Easy grade...he is a good man,knows what he is doing but can't teach at all.

Some people complain because Hoberg's classes are too easy. I agree that they're very easy, but that doesn't mean you won't learn a TON. He's got a huge head, and undoubtedly it's filled with a lifetime's worth of knowledge, and if you just stand next to him, you'll catch some of it. He's a brilliant man, and shares his knowledge liberally.

In response to the April 29th perspective,he approaches learning uniquely,like in private schools, evoking higher order thinking skills and not rote memory. I learned more and retained more from his classes than all the other English classes here combined. Most importantly, I became interested in reading literature on my own time!

Nicest, funniest, and def most humble PERSON that Ive ever met. Ive taken poetry, Victorian Lit (most recent this semester), ENG beg to 1865, and myth bkgrds with him. JUST AWESOME! Only survey classes require extensive work. The others are just a pure pleasure (and breeze)

A lot of students think prof Hoberg is great, which is fine--to each his/her own. I took Dr. Hoberg for 2 upper div classes: Victorian lit and folklore and the fairy tale. He's too easy. I really did not learn much. I once told a friend that more than a few classes w/ Hoberg undermines the integrity of your degree.

I have had this professor in three different classes:eng107(poetry), eng 218, eng333(elective). All of his exams are take homes double spaced about two pages. He tends to talk on and on so note taking maybe hard; however, he is a very easy teacher,easy grader, very friendly and understanding. Not strict on deadline at all. He is great!

I love Hoberg!! Not only is he a very easy A.. if you do the work.. but he will answer any question for you! Even if its from a different class! He is like a grandpa figure and is so sweet!
