He's an alright professor but is very blunt. He gives a crazy amount of extra credit and holds review sessions. The exams aren't very difficult if you have gone to class and kept up with the reading. But it can be difficult to make yourself go because he only reads off slides. Do the extra credit and go to class regularly and you will get an A.

Dr. Ray is brilliant, but his tests are really hard! He lectures a ton and expects you to read the book and know every slide basically for the tests. Each test is 33 multiple choice question. He does have Q & A sessions for each test and gives out 35 extra credit points by writing a response papers, but beware he is difficult!

I really liked Dr. Ray! He is funny, inclusive, and a brilliant professor. It is beyond easy to get an A in his class. All of the questions are MC from the lecture, videos, or textbook-there are no surprises. Ask questions at the review if you don't understand something. Final draws from textbook/powerpoints/videos and old exams. Lots of EC!

I would avoid this class! He is very rude. He is so smart but he is condescending to students who have questions. He just reads of the PowerPoint and is very boring. The final is cumulative and he doesn't give a good review so you have no idea what to study. Your grade is only made of 4 test.

The class itself is very boring. He reads straight off of his powerpoints and is kind of monotone. His tests are insanely hard unless making 60s on every test is what you are trying to do. He does offer 35 points worth of extra credit and is the only reason I made a B. He is nice in office hours and offers a "poor"review session before every test.

Professor Ray's class is fairly easy as long as you have a good memory and a basic understanding of evolution. He offers a lot of extra credit (35 test points) so that's a huge help when it comes down to the final grade. Holds a review session before every exam, which people tend to not take advantage of. Get ahold of some old exams, they help!

Sooo boring, nice guy overall, but just reads straight from his powerpoints all class. Lots of extra credit if you attend. About 1500-2000 slides to read over for the final. Avoid this class if you are able to find an alternative.

this guy is tough. he expects you to regurgitate everything the book has ever mentioned on essay-only exams. you can write a novel of pertinent information and he will deduct half of the points because you forgot a minor detail. he is a rude, arrogant, little nazi man if you go to his office hours. kind of a jerk.
