He's a great guy and is willing to help people who are invested in getting a good grade, but I think he may need to cut down on the workload as a professor -- 6pm class? He seems pretty tired... and our class can be a bit rowdy so I really don't think it's fair. (But again, he's a great guy that's willing to help people who want to be helped!)

Lets be honest, He is a tough lecturer and his lecture is confusing, but as long as you are willing to look at the book and study his practice exam, it is not that scary. You can always look for help from him.

He is a very nice guy but doesn't help you at all. Power points for every class that do not help at all. You have to teach yourself literally everything which is hard especially with the 1B material

honestly if i could go back i never would have taken this guy. i have never had so much useless work assigned or have i had to teach myself so much just to survive. everything is POWERPOINT. he's boring. he is so picky when it comes to labs. the only plus side is getting to leave early because that meant getting the hell out of his class.

Lectures are powerpoint. Absolutely zero explaining on the board. Lectures are boring and sleepy: he turns the lights off. I fell sleep more than half the lectures. Quizes are not hard. Exams are alright. A lot of lab reports which is typical. Kind guy, but he has become a little exhausted of teaching it seems. Get used to learn yourself from book

FINAL (multiple choice /RANDOM) .. RANDOM : some from book some other places..) online homework (mastering chemistry HARD!)

Very smart & nice professor & great at teaching! The class is pretty hard. Do all the homework, pay attention, go to his office hour, and DO THE PRACTICE QUIZES/EXAMS even though they are not worth points. Be ready to spend at least 8 hours a week studying for this class/ doing the homework. An A is possible but you really have to work for it.

ONE THE BEST SCIENCE TEACHERS AT EL CAMINO THE OTHER ONE WOULD BE NORM KADOMOTO, THEY BOTH RAN ME RAGGED BUT HECK DID I LEARN. TOOK CHEM 20 AND CHEM 1A

This professor was one of the nicest professors I've taken. He gives us his old exams to study from and wants his students to ask questions when they need help. Another pro is that he used to work for the Aerospace Corp, so he applies real life stuff to what he is teaching us. Make sure to read the book and do the old exams. One time he reused it.

He may not the most entertaining teacher, but he is very knowledgable. I got an A in his class because I spend hours each day studying for his quizzes and exams. Chemistry is a hard course, so you can't rely on the teacher 100%. You need to read on your own and do other practice problems besides the ones he gives you.

All the people complaining about HW probably did it LAST MINUTE & in turn did lousy on tests. DO THE HW well in advance, he told me many times he could see a direct correlation on those who did well on tests by how early they got to do the homework. He DOES have an office hour before class. Come 1 hour early & he'll be there. Great professor!

Hard professor, but is pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Online homework system is horrible and frustrating, but tests aren't that bad if you study. Somewhat dull and boring, but has interesting anecdotes from his career. Decent, but not great.

This guy does not belong in the classroom. He is disorganized and uninspired. He uses someone else's powerpoints and simply reads them. He is bad at explaining things and very sloppy in the lab. His tests and quizzes are so off the wall it is near impossible to do well. Requires an infuriating online homework system; huge waste of time. Avoid.

he is very nice and understanding. his class was hard, i studied a lot! his exams are part multiple part problem solving so lazy students wont b able to guess your way through the class. he knows the material very well so he is clear in lecture, have to study both lecture notes and book. labs were fun but a litle hard. study a lot and you will pass

Stewart is a good teacher. But, the exams and quizzes are so damn hard. And he is part-time, so no office hour for him. He requires the students who have truly understanding of the concept. If you wanna have an easy A, just walk away from the chem field and dont even face Stewart. But anyway, he is so cool!

He knows him chem very well but has a problem of conveying his lectures in class. Had to book read for all the tests. They can be a little challenging buts its honestly not hard, I scraped up a B without trying too hard. Also allows notecards on tests, doesnt collect HW but has you do prelabs for every lab. He is a nice guy and will help you.
