I took Tom's Child & Adolescent Psych class as a young mother of 3 girls approx. 20 years ago. It changed everything for me. Using the knowledge I gained from this class, I became a better Mother and eventually a better person. I am searching for Tom now for his input to help me develop an App that has a Psychological base. He was a gift!

Very hard even though I pay stict attention and have perfect attendance. This is his last semester, hurah! I think I will just read the book even though he says everthing that comes out of his mouth will be exclusively on the test. I rather just play it safe and pretend to understand what he's talking about.

Attendence gets to be mandatory at the end of the year when a project is due. As a teacher Professor Swietzer is awesome! He is extremely passionate about his job and he is really good at it too. You'll learn so much by taking this class, whether you are a psych major or not. Also if you get the chance to talk with him about anything!

This class is the worst Psyhology class i have ever taken. He designs the class to revolve around himself. He limits students participation when a certain student is the most active person in class. He lacks req. tech. skills to work the computer and VCR/DVD.

HE IS ONE HELL OF A TEACHER. HE NOT ONLY MAKES U WANT TO LEARN BUT MAKES IT FUN AS WELL. HE IS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD IN WHAT HE EXPECTS OF YOU. HE LETS YOU KNOW HE IS THERE TO HELP YOU AND LISTENS TO WHAT YOU SAY. HE GIVES YOU THE TOOLS TO LEARN ITS WHAT YOU DO WITH THEM THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.

Great Teacher. He loves what he teaches. He is very straight foward and is clear on what he expects of you. Do not take his class if you are looking for a blow off class. MUST pay attention and take notes to pass. He is very knowledgeable with many interesting stories. I have learned the most stuff from him than anyone else.

Easily the best teacher I have ever had. Through his courses I had learned more about who I am and how I came to be that which I am. I also learned how to guide myself to what I wish to be. His teaching methods are geared to help students understand the concepts presented. He definitely is more than qualified to do what he does.

He is a good teacher, however he is very full of himself and spent a lot of time discussing his career and how happy he is with his life and his choices and it got on my nerves, somewhat. I also didn't like how he spoke negatively about another professor, who deserved the respect and position that he earned.

I have taken every class this professor has taught. However I am disappointed he will not be teaching the personality of psychology class. I was really looking forward to that. If you have any interest in this field you will love this guy. If you have some interest you will be more interested in the end. Not recommended for the lazy.

Loved him, loved him, loved him! Not only is he vastly knowledgeable about the subject, but he keeps it interesting and has many "true life" stories to share. YES, the class is not a blow-off, but you will learn a lot. I did not think this would become my fave class but it is the best one I've taken so far!

Hurry and register for this teacher if you get the chance. He will be retiring soon and I have to say that he is the best teacher I have ever had. He is very fair. He knows what he is talking about and never uses the textbook. He makes you love psych. There is not one person that would not like his class. Take him while you have the chance!!
