the lectures are extremely dry and hard to follow. in general he is hard to follow because of the way he talks. i would not recommend taking this for a tier 1 theology class because it is unnecessarily difficult. he is a tough grader and his tests are near impossible.

This class was awful. It's hard to stay awake, and also you have to like force yourself to go because even though he takes attendance every class he doesn't have an attendance policy. BORING, please don't take him, everyone in my class is struggling and it is so so so hard., and I'm someone who really enjoys theology.

I definitely do not recommend this class at all!!!! The quizzes are close to impossible but he curves them ALOT so when I got like a 6/40 it was still a D so that could've been worse... and a 20/40 was a C but it was really hard to even get half right. He's so boring so props to anyone who can stay awake during that brutal 50 minutes.

Lots to memorize; not an easy A, and you'll need a 93 to 94 for an A-, a 95 and above for an A. He makes the course interesting, but only provides a study guide for the first test. To do well, study the outlines and take good notes in class! Do HW readings and annotate. Form study grps! Use flash cards. Memorize everything!

This class is terrible. Not only is this guy rude, boring and unclear. His lectures are the worst, he has a monotone and he doesn't actually have a point to anything he's saying. The readings are easy to understand but he will make them a complicated and stupid. There's a lot of homework and the "quizzes" are more like tests. Hard grader

He is super, super boring. He certainly knows what he is talking about, but that is all I can say nicely about him. His grading scale is like my high school's (70=D-). He is really specific about things. There is a ton of reading. Study A LOT for this tests. The one paper will take some time and research. Don't do it to yourself. Pick a new class!

Extremely difficult. Unless you are majoring in Theology, I would advise not taking him. He is an extremely harsh grader and the lowest A is a 95. An F is a 70. A lot of readings and class is boring.

His tests & essays are based directly off the lectures and readings but the material is super boring. I recorded his lectures on my laptop because I had issues paying attention the entire hour and fifteen minutes. But I did all the readings in the books and managed to get an B+. Go to class, he remembers who's there and takes it into consideration.

This professor though helpful is extremely difficult. His grading scale is completely out of range with an A being a 95-100. He is difficult to please inhis questions on tests and papers. I suggest attempting a different professor or classs/

Mr. Tobin is a good teacher except, he is very boring and an extremely harsh grader. I would recommend those who are interested in becoming theology majors or for higher level classes.

His teaching style is boring and dry. Found myself dozing off. I guess it doesn't help that I had his class at 8:30. His grading scale is ridiculous, i got an 84/85 and it was a B-. Ohter than that he knows his stuff, he is very helpful, and you might come out appreciating what you learned.

His lectures are pretty boring, but mostly straight forward. His tests are extremely detailed, so make sure to take incredibly good notes and memorize them!! His essays aren't that hard, so if you are a good writer, you should be fine. But his grading scale is wack!!! A 95% is an A and a 70% is an F!

He always seems very interested in helping us all understand. He is a decent grader, but I am a firm believer that a prof. is what the student makes of them, have an open mind and study hard.
