I love school and have no problem with being pushed to do my best, but professor Stiefer is terrible. She is not clear with our assignments. She is rude and refuses to help her students. I can see that she cares about what kind of teachers we will be, but that does not mean she should set us up for failure. Instructions are not to much to ask for.

Dr. Stiefer was different in each of the classes I took her for. The first time she was harsh but I did my work & kept my distance & dis just fine in her class. The second time she was positively wonderful. Both times she had so much experience & knowledge that would greatly benefit a future candidate! I would gladly take any of her courses again!!

Dr. Stiefer did seem different the two times I've taken her. The first time she was harsh but I did my work & kept my distance & did just fine. The second time she was a different person. She laughed , chatted about non-class stuff & was quite pleasant. Even if I knew she would be harsh if I took her again, I would do it in a heartbeat. She has a tremendous amount of experience & knowledge to offer future teachers!!

Do not take her class! She prides herself in failing half of the class and will let you know of this fact on the first day. She tries to scare people out of teaching and it works. She is hateful and does not care about her students. Her assignments are just busy work and you will learn little to nothing. You will be insulted and humiliated instead.

Whoever is saying that we are just complaining and that she is preparing us for the real word is crazy and obviously a kiss up. No professor should make a student feel like they want to not teach anymore, and that is the least of what she does. Not just I feel that way , but many people do. You need to evaluate what real world is.

Let's put it this way..this lady has issues. If you can, take someone else. She's hateful, vindictive, and selfish. How she ever worked with kids is incomprehensable. She doesn't care about you or your problems. I was going through a cancer scare, and she didn't give a dang about me. She's just not a good person in the least.

Dr. Steifer makes you put what you have learned in the past 3 years to work. She doesn't tell you what to do, she makes it like you are out in the real teaching world. The tutoring experience has been great for me. Don't take her if you are lazy, but do if you want to learn something. I love going to her class and have learned sooo much!

This professor will not make anything easy for you. You have to work harder than you have ever worked before in any other class, period. But, if you show her that you are working hard, she will recognize it. Don't take this class if you don't want to put in the work. Tests are on the hard side, but can easily be passed by studying.

Meaningless, tedious, and often just plain mean. I needed this class in the worst way and really wanted to learn this for my son's problems. I didn't know I would get the class in the worst way - literally. Busy work. Rigidity. Failed to address new research and methods.
