Foyle seldom follows the syllabus but it's usually because he is giving you more time to complete a large assignment. He isn't the best about answering questions in class and will probably just ask you what you think the answer is, not because he doesn't know, but because he either already covered the answer or will get to the point soon.

There's almost NOTHING positive to say about him. He weights the class very heavily toward navigation and sediment studies, stumbles awkwardly through lectures, and tends to run classes over by 5-10 minutes at least once a week. He talks down to students, even those who are doing well, and tends to get flustered if you ask a lot of questions.

Dr. Foyle is a really awesome guy and a decent professor. What I'm about to tell you is the truth about him so listen up. He is from Ireland and has a slight irish accent. Don't worry though because you can always tell what he's saying. The tests are TOUGH, but he's ALWAYS willing to help if you go in during office hours. Cuts you breaks. Cool guy.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Unhelpful and useless teachings. His lectures are terrible and he does not take the time to help students out. I must say he is a very very smart man, just a horrible teacher. DONT TAKE!!!

He is not helpful at all. He teaches from power points that are wrong and contradicts what he says during his lectures. He does not follow the syllabus and is very confusing. When I asked him for help, he just looked at me and said okay lets continue.

A guy who is smarter than his own good. Really understand topic, but sometimes has difficulty presenting it. Classes were pretty easy going, but quizes and tests were difficult unless you studied relentlessly.

Dr. Foyle.. Oh, where to begin. He's a great guy, not such a great professor. Tests are cake if you pay attention and review the chapter, he gives lots of extra credit, partner quiz's. He goes SUPER slow, which allows you more than enough time to read over the chapter.

His class is really hard. I've never been good in Science, but I did all the readings. He helps in office hours and gives a lot of extra credit, but his tests are horrible! I didn't get one test over an D! The only good thing is that you get to take group tests after.

This is the worst profeesor you could ever have! his tests are impossible theres no use going to class and he is not helpful, he talks but nothing is said, i regret taking this course and i would never tell anyone to take him... our last class average of 109 was a 56??? does that explain it enough?
