Dr. Mott is a good professor. He's a little boring and hard to follow at times, but he gives you the information you need. The only assignments you have are essays that as long as you basically copy and paste the notes you'll get an A. Good professor to take as long as you're willing to sit through boring lectures, and as long as you go you'll pass

The best in the econ department. Professor Tracy is solid choice. He have been teaching for more than 37 years so know alot about the topic. I really take all his classes and still want more but unfortunately I am about to graduate so.. anyway he is great professor inside and outside the class.

Profesor Mott has a wide range of knowledge. His Econ 1020 class was very history and example based. While he talks slow and is kind of boring, his class was very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed his teaching style. Hes like a cute old man who knows a little about everything.

Dr. Mott is very knowledgeable and really wants you to understand what he is teaching. His lecture is fairly boring but are very helpful in terms of leaning the information. Going to lecture and taking notes will make it very easy to get a good grade. Dr. Mott is very straight about what he expects, is great about helping students, and is very nice

Professor Mott is very knowledgeable about economics, but his class is pretty dull. He does not present the material in a way that is organized or interesting. Just copy your notes down and exactly what he teaches for the essays and midterms and you will do well.

Mott is not my cup of tea, but not an awful prof. He is clear and concise, but rather boring. If you want a straight forward class where you learn a lot, I recommend taking a class with Mott. If you're looking for creative academic growth, Mott is an awful choice for you.

Comment:
Dr. Mott is extremely smart, sometimes too smart. His lectures are boring and he assigns alot of readings, which you must do to pass. However the whole class is only 3 papers and he lets you turn in a rough draft, then gives you notes and allows you to correct the paper before grading it.

I was kinda nervous taking Professor Mott after so many horrible reviews, but it's ended up being my favorite class of the quarter. He is extremely organized, lets you know exactly what is what is expected of you, everyday you know exactly what is going to be covered, and as long as you take good notes you will know exactly what you need to do well

Its very clear that Prof. Mott is extremely knowledgeable; yet it is also quite apparent that he is ill suited to teach introductory economics classes. Mott is not very good at communicating basic ideas. However he does seem to be much more competent in more advanced classes.

This guy is smart but like everyone else says he and his T.A. don't want you to write anything analytical or creative at all they just want you to regurgitate exactly what they said...And everything they say is boring. You do get a good base of knowledge for econ though.

Professor Mott may know his stuff, but he is basically incomprehensible. On essays, you have to say almost exactly what he wants to hear or he'll mark you down for it. There is no room for any true analysis or intellectual diversity in this class. DO NOT TAKE CLASSES FROM MOTT!

Do not get Tracy Mott. Very poor lecturer, grades well only if you use his words to agree with him, and about as appealing as Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller. Take any other teacher!

all asignments are essay based which puts the professor more in a judgement call if he likes you or not to grade you. He knows his subject very well, but is fairly boring and hard to follow at times.
