Professor Teslow is a very nice, and communicative professor. She is easily reached and provides feedback when asked, BUT that's about it for my positives. Tomorrow is the last day of the semester and she has posted ZERO grades in the grade book, I've received grades for two of about twenty+ assignments. Very dull lectures, but an easy A.

This class is exrtemely lecture heavy. Looking back, I probably wouldn't take it again, I thought it was really boring but I also don't love studying history so take that as you will. Lots of sitting in class and daydreaming. She's a hard grader, very intelligent woman. I would only reccomend if you are SUPER passionate about studying slavery.

She is a great professor, but she does grade really hard. We had a lot of papers ( 6 primary source analysis & 3 4-5 page papers.) The class is very interesting and her lectures are not boring, she makes it fun to learn. My only issue was the way she graded papers, I didn't really understand it. I would have 2 mistakes and get a B.

Dr. Teslow is amazing. She is the director of the graduate department of history and knows her stuff. She shines a fresh and fascinatingly enlightening light on history. The problem is she pairs that with a lot of papers and long readings. No tests, but plenty of writing and some pop-quizzes. Love her but definitely not an easy A.

I would say she is a good professor (personable and down to earth). However, she is big on attendance, so make sure you show up to class! Also, she won't expect the class to buy a ton of expensive books, she posts most of the readings via blackboard. She can be a bit unorganized at times but everyone plenty of time to complete paper assignments.

Tracy Teslow is an awesome professor. She really knows what she's talking about and is super inclusive and accommodating. After class, I sometimes stop and talk to her just because I was interested in the lecture topic, which is something I've never experienced in a college class. She facilitates really great in-class discussions too.

Dr. Teslow is a great professor. She lectures a lot but I found the class flew by because her lectures were interesting. She welcomes questions and comments during her lectures. She assigns a lot of reading but it is all interesting and helps you better understand the topics of the class. Her writing prompts are very interesting and she grades fair

Teslow is one of the hardest I have ever taken. You have pop quizzes, chapter exams, and readings every week. She is so boring in lecture and sometimes teaches the wrong information. She has the driest personality and will leave you hanging if need be. Her midterm and final is extremely hard. I would never take her again.

Requires reading 50-100 pages weekly with random quizzes and writings to see if you're reading. I didn't read a thing all year and got a B. Grade mainly comes from the 3-4 papers you have to write throughout the quarter. Best part of this class is that there's no exams. Class is extremely boring. She just talks with a single slide up.

Very difficult exams with really long study guides. I attended SI sessions which was very helpful. Very nice lady will help you if you ask. She assigns several essays. It is a challenging course overall.

I am currently writing my senior thesis and Tracy is my instructor. Her assistance, feedback, and encouragement in guiding me in the research and writing process has been a blessing. Don't take her classes if you don't care about actually challenging your percieved limitations or engaging with the course material. Challenging, yes, but worthwhile!

History 300 is a weedout class for history majors. You have to read 3 300+ pages books one per week and then have discussion. Teslows questions for the papers on the books ever week were confusing and did not pertain to the classes as a whole. She is a hard grader and unless you write what she thinks you should write you get a bad grade.

Her notes were fine. However the papers she assigned were somewhat difficult. Her exams were okay, know your stuff beforehand or you'll be very sorry. She was good about using blackboard to post material related to the course.
