Anyone who dislikes Dr. Perry probably just wanted an easy A. Perry gives you every resource you need to get an A in his class, but you actually have to put in some amount of effort. If you actually want to enjoy lecture and learn something, take his class. Only professor I have had who tailors lectures to the particular interests of his students.

His GER Bio class is extremely hard for a GER credit. Challenging is an understatement when describing his tests. Dr. Perry is a very nice man who knows a lot about bio, but most people have a very hard time passing his GER class. Just a heads up.

I participated in Dr. Perry's travel/study Wild Semester. He can be rough, he's certainly not charming, but he's damn intelligent and knows his stuff as well as everyone else's. His program changed my life. He is firmly dedicated to teaching through experience. Shut up about your grade and go outside. You'll learn more than you ever have before.

Dr. Perry is a very difficult professor. He means well for his students, but his class is way too hard for the GER credit. Everything is sheer memorization, and is not very helpful outside of class. Definitely would not take again.

I did not have a very good experience with Dr. Perry. His tests were complete memorization of his powerpoint slides- he took points off of your answers if you didn't use his exact words. He wasn't very helpful when I asked questions and I found him to be condescending. He didn't really seem to care whether I understood the material or not.

This class was a very bad experience for me. I did not actually learn much biology, I mostly memorized facts and spit them out on tests. Dr. Perry is not a very understanding teacher. Although he encourages students to come to him for questions, he is not very willing to answer them and believes that this defeats the learning experience.

Dr. Perry is awesome, but dont underestimate his class. When he says to study the study questions after EACH lecture, DO THEM. DO NOT procrastinate. You will pass with an A if you memorize the study questions word-for-word. Warning: heavy workload. Overall, class is really interesting. He's funny and super nice. I would definitely take him again.

DO NOT TAKE DR PERRY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! He is not a good teacher and expects way to much from his students. The amount of work is absurd for this type of class. you will not actually learn biology. you will only be memorizing his powerpoints word for word. this class literally ruined my life. don't do it.

Dr.Perry is so entertaining in class. He gives out study questions after each lecture that are the exact same questions on the tests. Its a lot of information but the class is practically all memorization.

Memorize the answer to every study question word for word, and you'll do well, It's just frustrating that you don't even learn the material or concepts-- you just memorize pointless information. It's a lot of material, but he does mean well.

Perry is AWESOME. He's insanely helpful, and is pretty entertaining in class. Just make sure to do the questions and use them as your primary study material. That's where all his questions come from. The tests get easier as they go, no worries. The first one made half of the class drop out, but the final was a joke. Highly recommended.

This class is NOT hard. He sets up the class in the way that if you do the study questions and study them, you will ace every single exam. I would highly recommend Dr. Perry to anyone who is taking Bio 111 because he makes the exams ands labs really easy. DO THE STUDY QUESTIONS, those are the most important thing.

Avoid like the plague, unless you're pationate about evolution/ecology. Be prepared to memorize useless facts about Darwin and intermediate species. Also, don't expect this class to prepare you for the MCAT or GRE. He is is the worst professor I've had so far at Furman... and I love biology.

Awesome professor. He is committed to teaching and always energetic (despite breaking a leg and spraining the other ankle during the term). This program in New Mexico is a must for students interested in ecology. Truely a great teacher and person.

although he is willing to help you study for exams (and occasionally has a cheesy joke)... tperry's bio 16 is a rediculous class. this is absolutely not baby bio. requires the same work that a bio 11 prof would... plus, a whole lot of memorization. :(

Dr. Perry is a great professor. He isn't too strict on attendance, but you better not miss any labs! He puts lectures online, which is great, y'know, in case you over-sleep and miss class. He's very detail-oriented, and his tests reflect that!!!
