Comment:
DO NOT TAKE HIM at all costs...I read through all the notes and completed every study guide (which barely correlated to the test) and made it out with a C. Lamb took the most missed problems from the previous four tests and made that the final exam (Source: TA). BIOL 1200 professors make it harder than it should be when your not a biology major!

DO NOT TAKE HIM !! stay away from this professor, you have to know synapomorphies to do good in the class he offers study reviews a day before the exam but he will laugh in your face if you ask him the question. He doesn't answer the questions himself.

Professor Lamb is the worst biology professor I've had so far. The entire class average for all the tests was failing, and he was proud of those scores. His lectures are very boring and even if you do pay attention and do the study guides they don't help with his tests. I would not take him again and would not suggest taking him for anyone else.

This was one of the hardest biology classes I have taken so far. Even if you go to class and study for hours, his tests are really hard because he puts 2 possible answers for every question and its just "up to you" to choose the better one. His study guides are not helpful at all and you have to really understand the material if you want to pass.

Comment:
He is very monotonous during the lecture. The test are VERY difficult, you must know every piece of information and hope that you'll get an A on it. Study guides aren't too much help. He offered a class review session on the last day of lecture and was completely rude to everyone that asked him questions. That was not necessary.

He is very tough. His lectures and power points barely cover what is on the tests. He skips through the most important parts of the course and rambles on about specific details. I was always falling asleep in class. The optional attendance policy is very dangerous. I probably would have done better if I went more.

Dr. Lamb is the best teacher at ECU! He is so helpful and if you're willingness to actually go to his lectures and pay attention you'll be fine. Ppl complaining either didn't show up or didn't pay attention. Highly recommend but this class is not for slackers! MAKE FLASHCARDS AND KNOW SYNAPAMORPHIES TO PASS!!

I'm not going to lie so here it is straight. Class is not boring and not really necessary to make a good grade, but Dr. Lamb has a tendency of being very rude and condescending. I witnessed him laugh in a students face because the student did not know an answer. Test are hard even though I knew what I was doing and can explain the topics clearly.

Dr. Lamb will actually take the time to get to know you if you give him the chance to - he's a great teacher and truly cares about his students. He is truly passionate about the material that he teaches, and gives great in-lecture examples. Take the time to go to office hours and do the study guide. I guarantee that you won't regret it.

Great instructor! This has been my favorite course so far. Best subject and the best instructor to teach it. He really knows the material and is very down to Earth. He was a welcome relief compared to most of the dry, boring, aloof professors most classes are taught by. Highly recommended.

This guy is not good at all. His test are multiple choice with true/false but I think the only way to pass them is if you wrote the book.I barely passed mine. He also says he will grade a test a certain way and then change it after everyone takes the test. He also doesn't curve everything. I think he only cured 2/5 exams we had. DON'T TAKE HIM.

He's a really good teacher and I enjoy going to class. While his tests are hard as long as you do the studygide youll know whats on the test. Honestly if you cant get at least a B you didnt really try. He curves the tests and the quizes are online

The teacher is not that helpful. He waited for a week and a half to send me an email answering my question.I can understand that youre busy but if a student needs help, make that your priority. He also doesnt offer extra credit and his tests are tricky, so read his notes more than his book. He does not boost your grade, 79.5=79 not 80

I took this class over the summer so my overall grade consisted of just 2 exams. I made an A the first half with Jason Bond, and then got a 74 with this guy after A LOT of studying. He just rambles about stuff & expects you to comprehend it all. Biology is a complicated subject, but he makes it harder than it has to be. Wouldnt recommend this class

Lamb is a good teacher, knows alot about the subject and sometimes explains things in ways only he can understand. Puts all powerpoints online and doesn't take attendance.

I HATED when Dr. Lamb took over the second part of 1200. He talks too fast to really get notes off of. His test are hard, but of course thats because its biology. His test require A LOT of memorization. So I reccomend getting note cards, and study every night becuase you have to know every little piece of info. and then some.

Dr. Lamb's quizzes come directly from the powerpoint. His tests can be very hard. It requires memorization. If you attend class, pay attention, take notes, and study a week before the test, then you will be fine.

The class is not difficult if you read the chapters, go to class everyday, and do not fall asleep in class. The exams were a little difficult, but he gave my class extra credit. There were 5 exams. He puts his powerpoint presentations on Black Board and he gives exam reviews the day before an exam. He is always willing to help.

His test was solely based on what he said in class, and then some. Monotonic/rambling way of reading his slides word for word. Is a very nice guy, just not a great teacher. The thing that got to me the most was his exam, in a class where there are no quizzes/assignments, from 3 study guides there were +/-10questions from them on the final. Avoid.
