I had the pleasure of experiencing Dr. Stewart in the mid-'70s. His delivery of American politics and policy with the presentation of history throughout the years kept me interested during class. This became my major. Troy was encouraging when his teachings did not come easy and took time to explain further. One of the most reasonable professor!

TERRIBLE man! Just a miserable old coot. I don't doubt that he is well read on the subject matter, but he picks on others who do not believe what he follows and warps young minds into believing his way is the right way.

This man is very old school. He rambles in class some, but follows it up with clarification of what he meant. Wonderful to speak with one on one if you have a question. Truly knows his stuff.

He's been here awhile. Basically, comes in late. Lectures on his own, and does stray often. But not hard on the grades from the test.

Dr. Stewart's class is the best I have ever taken, and not just in college. Every class is an hour and fifteen minutes of pure joy; I love this man. I'm really sad and can't believe that he's retiring at the end of this semester. The political science department has lost its greatest asset.

His lecture have no effect on the calss because there not about the stuff that is on the test. Do the study guides because they are the test with a few questions left out

The lectures weren't really relevant to the course, but they were really interesting and his sense of humor cracked me up. Tests were take home. Just be thorough on tests and you'll do fine.

He is an egotistical jerk. His lectures consist of 10 % teaching new information and 90% talking about how much he knows. Don't ask any questions because he treats everyone like their stupid if they ask a question. He needs to retire!

Professor Stewart was one of my all time favorite professors. He was very fair and helpful if he felt you were really interested in learning. Sure he did not put up with any crap, but I sure did learn a lot in his class.

Thinks he is god's gift to political science. %60 of the class is spent on him talking about the people he knows and the jobs he held in politics. The study guides are at least 4 pages long.Class was almost afraid to answer his questions, no right answers

He seriously need to rethink is teaching skills. He doesnt lecture he just rambles with no point. I had a horrible time trying to follow him. The only grades I recieved were from 3 exams in which we had study guides for but the study guides were tough.

He's interesting, but his lectures often have little to do with anything that will be on the test. Get into a study group when you get the study guides, so that you'll have an easier time finding the info that will be on the tests. (there's a lot to find)

Stewart is ok. His study guides for this class are the exact same questions that are on the test so memorize them. Lectures are pointless to the course but interesting.

Lectures were not really relevant to tests, but I thought they were interesting. You can learn a lot if you go to class (but not necessarily about the course subject). Tests were easy if you were thorough (not hard to do with a take home).

This is by far the worst professor at Marshall University. He's horrible. He gives study guides but the questions have nothing to do with the tests. His lectures suck, he's boring and arrogant. He thrives on making students feel stupid.

I was scared in the beginning that he would be very difficult, but he gives you study guides for every exam which are the same questions that are on the test. Work with other ppl in the class on the study guides...you have to work to find the answers.

These aren't trick questions, there are important distinctions that you need to know to understand the material. Lectures are interesting...they do tend to stray into tangents but are always relevant to the material at hand. Read and go to class!
