Great professor. You do have to focus to keep your attention on the lectures, but he is by no means boring. Writing assignments are so much better than most typical English essay assignments.

His lectures were clear and comprehensive, and he showed a lot of passion and thoughtfulness for the subject. He also took the time to (amazingly) learn the names of all fifty students by the second class meeting. Can't wait to take Nature and Transcendentalism with him.

He is very nice, good to look at, and smart. I love English so I loved his class. If you don't like English or theories of literature, don't take him. You won't like it.

TS is great. I actually really enjoyed his "Rivers" class. I made fun of it everyday, but I learned how to really delve into somewhat easy texts. The readings were on a low reading level, but still, the class was extremely well taught. Can't wait to take upper level courses with TS.

T.S. McMillin is kind of a genius and an amazing professor to boot. Nature of Transcendentalism has been the best class I've taken at Oberlin. If you're at all interested in Thoreau and Emerson, you won't regret taking this class!

Nice guy, but some of his interpretations seemed to be a little forced on the texts, imo. Some people really love him. If you love literary theory, take him. If you don't think literary theory is incredibly helpful, by all means... don't.
