Frankly if you can get another teacher, I would strongly reccommend it. This statement however only pertains to those who actually want to learn. This class isn't exceedingly difficult if you're willing to do the reading, however you will simply be reguritating facts all class. If you dare ask him a question to learn you will promptly be shot down.

Dr. King-Meadows is a great professor who has dedicated his life to teaching political science thoroughly. If dislike learning, then his courses are not for you. You leave his classes smarter, with your money's worth of instruction. I recommend taking at least one of his classes before graduation. Lastly,open minds are suggested.

Best Prof. I've ever taken at UMBC. Everyone talks about how hard he is but he just gives you the maximum amount of info he can. I paid a lot for this class and expect teachers to actually teach. You will leave his class an expert in the topic and he makes sure of it. Great Prof., and I thank you for the semester.

Knew what he was talking about but did not explain his requirements for assignments. Also was not responsive to e-mails. I did not like him at all. He knows what he's talking about and lectures were interesting but not very good if you like to talk with your teacher about assignments. Especially the library assignment.

This was by far the most interesting and exciting class I have had at UMBC. Dr. King-Meadows is passionate about the topics, which makes lectures fun. Some say he grades hard, but honestly EVERYTHING comes from the book,(or online material) on the exams! He has a fair grading system, too, just work hard to get full credit. TAKE THE CLASS!

This teacher is amazing. You do have to keep up with the readings and assignments online but it only helps you better understand the material. & he should get better ratings he is a really helpful and intelligent political science teacher. I'm glad I took POLI 100 with him and not another teacher. He also grades on a point system. Just go to class!

Took for a Gen-ed and was lost. Felt like I was in a 300 level class. Is helpful outside of class but doesnt answer your questions during class. Don't take unless you have a strong background in Poly-sci

Awesome professor, if you don't know how to apply concepts then don't take the class (or be a polisci major). His lectures are incredible, one of the smartest people I have met at UMBC. The only bad thing was the "library assignment"

Amazing teacher. He gives you the information in an objective manner and lets you make your decisions. A lot of reading, but well worth it. The best part of the class were his lectures. Not for you if you want an easy A, and are lazy.

This guy makes it difficult for most to learn. It's as if he is trying to show you what he knows,not teach you. Reading the book was fine...I understood it...only to get in his class and hear his lecture and wonder did I buy the wrong book. I am an A, B student. Had to drop this class to keep it that way. I am a junior.

Dr. KM scared me at first. He really knows his stuff, and if you come off as not knowing your stuff, he will call you out on it. His lectures are a little too fast and confusing, w/ no powerpoints to help you follow, but I eventually got used to it. He's extremely fair about grading. One of the best classes I've ever taken. I really learned a lot.

Difficult, but if you are in it for learning rather than just the grade, he's the teacher for it. Lots of reading and intimate knowledge is required- he'll tire you out. Probably a little too hard for your typical 100 level, but you'll be better for it later. The other problem is that he is an intimidating person.

I had Pol 100. He is a very intresting teacher and you do learn alot in his class. It's not an easy class though there are alot of readings in two books. This class is taught like a 300 level course you have to apply the information and you should read the chapters and ask questions. If you take class you must study if not you wont do well.Good Luc

For serious students only! The spring '07 class went from 44 to 12 students. I learned alot and this guy is the King. If you stick it out you will be greatly rewarded with a lot of knowledge. He tends to ease up around mid semester.

One of the best POLISCI profs. Extremely difficult, extremely. But if you're interested in the subject, take the class. I learned so much from him, it was unbelievable. Upper-level classes are a cinch now, because of the great content in his class. Come prepared for alot of tests, debates, and quizzes, and you'll do fine. Study hard, though.
