by all means, AVOID THIS CLASS!!! if you do get stuck with it, get a GOOD T.A. and don't bother going to lecture - use that time to do homework. And even if you do all of the homework, it may not help, as the exams are ridiculous...

probably the most boring teacher I have ever encountered in 13 years of schooling. Lecture was completely useless, my grades were not influenced by attendance. Overall, the class was a monstrous waste of my time. I didn't learn a damn thing from this class.

Terrible prof. You're honestly better off skipping lecture to do homework. His lectures are 100% proofs, 0% how to do a problem, and therefore 0% relevance to his exams. It's up to you, your TA, and your book (which is well-written) to teach you EVERYTHING. One positive: his exams are fairly straightforward ("solve X using this technique").

Plan on teaching yourself everything in this course. The lecture consists of reading the textbook and putting up slides of information directly from the textbook. He does not teach, so you should hope for a good TA. But lecture is a good time to do homework.

This Prof is terrible. He basically put's the current book section into powerpoint, and then procedes to unclarify it. After lecture, if you stay awake, you will come out more confused than you went in. Do yourself a favor and don't go to lecture unless you are having trouble falling asleep.

if you can teach yourself go, because lectures are useless. some people would just get fed up and daily people left before lecture was over. the TA has to teach everything. don't take if don't need or at least hold off till you can get a good prof.

Very monotonous and boring. Extremely difficult to get through his power lectures. Lecture will not help you comprehend the subject at all so get a good TA and go to discussion!!! I rely on my TA, smarter friends, and the solution manual to get me by.

I don't learn anything from this guy. I'm sure he's really nice but is very boring to listen to. I count the times he says "namely" in class...usually 25-30 times a lecture. And I try to teach myself to write with my left hand in lecture because there really is no point listening to him. Read the book you'll do fine.

Uhlenbrock is a horrible lecturer and enjoys ridiculing students. He may be a brilliant mathematician, but he can't teach his way out of a paper bag and he has no respect for students. He doesn't answer your questions if you come to office hours and I found that reading the book was much easier. Get a good TA, or preferably a different prof.

worst professor ever! i am taking this class in the summer and it is the worst possible thing. he is monotone and he NEVER does any examples, just shows the formulas on powerpoint. what kind of a teacher teaches math on powerpoint anyways??? avoid him at all costs because he will make you HATE calculous. good luck if you get him, you will need it.

This was the hardest math class I've ever taken and this is the "A" class at this school supposedly. He made calculus so hard and complicated, I felt like I didn't learn anything the entire time. HARD tests.. Good luck if you get this professor, hopefully you have learned calc from some other teacher before.

Basically, was failing halfway through class because he really doesn't teach anything and all the TAs DO NOT SPEAK ANY ENGLISH. I had to just sack up and teach myself it... pulled out a C (just barely). Has two midterms (difficult, both a did poorly on) and a final (which I only did well on because i taught myself the material). Avoid if possible
