Treisman was one of my favorite professors at UT. He is very understanding and really made me feel comfortable at UT as a freshman. His lectures are difficult to grasp but if you do the homework and read the textbook you'll be fine. Tests are curved and he gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Make sure to get to know him in office hours!

Very proof focused, and definitely a lot harder than other 408C profs there. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, and have to put in a lot of effort to do good.

Really interesting and cool class, its just extremely time consuming and difficult, since he goes deeper into the topics than most other professors(requiring proofs for an intro calc class is rather ridiculous if I'm honest). Tests are very difficult, and you're never sure whats going to be on them cause there's so much work. Would take again still

I can tell Professor Treisman will always be one of my favorite professors. As a student who had not previously taken a calculus course in high school, his class was harder just to catch up to the others in the class. However, Triesman kept up with my progress and I went from an F in the beginning of the semester to a B by the end of the semester.

Amazing person. Professor Treisman is the most caring, intelligent, and respected human being I have ever met. I got a 40 on my first test. A 66 on my second test. A 76 on my third test. And a 150 on the Final. Anyone can get an A, you just need to put the time and effort. Make sure to attend reviews, and write down the problems he works out.

One of my favorite professors, professor T is absolutely inspirational in his drive to make sure all of his students succeed. You learn so much from him, along with him really testing your ability. His tests are difficult but it's worth it to have such a fantastic professor.

Anyone can pass his class if you're willing to work hard for it. Homework was due every two days and tests were hard, but there's a ton of extra credit. Whatever grade you get on your final will be the lowest possible grade you could get in the class. For example, if you have a C in the class but get an A on the final, you'll get an A in the class.

This is a very challenging class, but Uri is a great teacher. He is truly there for the student. His tests are very challenging, but he offers ton of extra credit opportunities to help offset the grade! Work hard and you will be fine.

He is one of the best professors I've had. Very inspirational, caring, hilarious, and an amazing guy. His lecture is not too difficult to understand; however, his tests were SUPER HARD. If you don't study, I can assure that you WILL fail. Treisman gives out a bunch of extra credit opportunities, so be sure to do them if you want an A in his class.

Prof. T is by far one of the most inspirational and accomplished instructors I have been blessed to have. His class is definitely very challenging but if you are not afraid of hard work you will learn, you will excel, you will look back on your time in this course with a smile and a bead of metaphorical sweat on your brow. Professor T makes a strong effort to get to know his students and make sure they succeed. I'm not going to lie, this class was hard; homework due twice a week, very difficult tests, and many hours of studying devoted to calculus, BUT he gives ample extra credit and test review sessions led by him, not a TA. An A is possible if you work for it

Prof T is an incredibly dedicated and inspiring professor. He begins each lecture with news in science and even takes time to give us intensive review sessions frequently and so many extra credit chances. The work load is very heavy, and the class very difficult, but it is every bit worth it. He teaches you essential skills for college success.

Comment:
This professor is amazing. By no means is the class easy, Prof. T expects every student to understand the material. He'll ask you to do things that other professors may not; for example lots of proofs. But he's fair, caring, and he makes class a joy to go to. He teaches well and gives plenty of extra credit, so if you work hard you'll do well.

Prof T gives his students many opportunities to learn and challenge themselves. Expect a lot of work and studying. On the first day of class, he specifically said, "I will teach you how to struggle." He was right. But this class was a learning experience, and you'll pass the class as long as you're working hard.

A lot of people get As in this class, but it's not easy. You have to keep up with your work and go to discussion. Treisman's a really cool guy if you ever talk to him, which you should, and really wants everyone to do well, but wants them to struggle along the way, therefore the class averages for the midterm are a 65. To survive you must fight.

Professor Treisman really cares about his students. He is an amazing guy!! Take his class! It's hard but he wants all of his students to get As. It's completely manageable to make an A in his class and you will learn so much. He gives out lots of extra credit he even builds extra points into the grading.

Prof T is phenomenal. To future students, I would recommend taking this course if you have some form of calculus experience. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to keep up. This class allows you to fully understand why your doing what you're doing, rather than just memorizing stuff. 10/10 would recommend!

If you haven't taken calculus I wouldn't recommend this class because most basic concepts are not covered . However, Professor T is inspiring to listen to during his lectures. You can definitely see his passion for the subject matter. Homework and tests are very challenging. He uses quest and many homework assignments take up to two hours.

If you've taken calc before and done well, you should take Prof T! He will make sure you know what you learned & then some. If you haven't taken calc or did poorly in it, don't take Prof T. Lots of homework. Hard tests. Extra credit, though! He gets to know you and really wants you to succeed. Only take Prof T if you're prepared to work REALLY hard
