Cortinez was a VERY good lecturer and made the class go by effortlessly with her unique sense of humor. As has been said, she had a passion for the material that really conveyed itself well. Tests were a bit tough but she didn't ask for anything out of the blue, everything was manageable.

From the first day I walked into the class, I noticed that she was VERY passionate about the material. She had the sense of humor to make a two hour lecture breeze by. A crystal clear lecturer, she was extremely approachable for questions if something still didn't make sense. Definitely one of the best professors at UCLA.

She is a great professor, she's always asking and worried that everybody is understanding the material :) Her tests are easy! because you get to choose which you want to answer. If you go to sections, read and go over the material in class and with the tutors is easy and entertaining ;) And she is so great, just pay her a visit during office hours
