Love this woman. The 319 translation course is awesome. There is homework almost every day and attendance is pretty mandatory but she is SO funny and very clear about expectations. Such a cool, fun woman with years of experience teaching. Gives great feedback and is helpful/patient when students ask questions about translating.

Professor Egon is great. She's funny, open to talking about many things, and cares about her students if you can make a connection with her. Spanish 321 in itself is a tough, boring class. The lectures weren't very informative and you have to study the reviews before tests or you won't pass. Would not take this class again, but love Veronica.

Veronica is a great prof! However, the grade you earn depends on how you go about it. Everything (hw, takehome exams, presentations, out of class work, etc) goes into a portfolio, which is worth 30% at the middle of the semester and 70% at the end. She willingly sparks discussion and looks for improvement, the main influence of the final grade.

Veronica has a lively attitude. She is willing to help and really encourages students to do their best. Her class has a lot of assignments, but I have learned SO much from her class. Super down to earth. If you participate, go to class, and do the homework, it's an easy A for sure. And no final exam! Just a project - not too bad.

Most defiantly the hardest class I've taken so far but also SO SO SO interesting. Professor Egon may be strict but she totally knows her phonetics and wants her students to learn and love it as much as she does. Loved the class and loved her. TAKE THIS WITH VERONICA!

Great professor! She makes class interesting and although she may at first come across as stern she is friendly and has a great sense of humor. She only expects from you what you expect from yourself. Most be self-motivated and self-disciplined to do well in this class. Overall I learned a lot from her and would definitely recommend her.

Holy @#!$! This class is HARD -- but because of the material. Prof Egon is great!! She gives you all of the tools that you need to succeed as long as you do your job as a student. Be warned: the "pruebita" and exams are on the same level of difficultly. Grabacion is a huge pain. Overall, if you have to, get Prof Egon :)

Prof. Egon is the best Spanish professor I've had at UW-Madison. She is a veteran teacher and knows how to keep unruly students respectful. She is very knowledgeable, has a great, quick sense of humor and is extremely helpful if you SHOW EFFORT. And she is CHILEAN for those of you who clearly did not pay attention.

She definitely picks favorites. And also has a habit of starting class before the bell, and more over, continues class after the bell has rung. Classes often turn into arguments (she'll say 'debates') which really wasn't my style of learning. I will give it to her that she has a genuine interest in teaching her students but is strict too.

Took this class over summer, so it was pretty condensed, so I'm not sure how easy/hard it would be over the semester. A lot of vocab and some grammar fine-tuning. She's a native Colombian who really is passionate about spanish and linguistics! She somewhat picks favorites, but is funny, endearing and a great teacher. I learned a lot!

Picks favorites. Lecture is 50 minutes, and covers a chapter or more. We print multiple pages of homework EVERY lecture. Condescending and RUDE. Says things like: "we're behind because you all aren't studying hard enough." Grade = 2 midterms, 2 "pruebitas" (midterms), grabacion, presentation, report, final. Study HARD for exams. Good luck!

Loved her! Good professor, friendly person, and interesting topic. Do your work because nobody is naturally good at phonetics. Exams are straightforward if you study her notes and read the textbook. She is pretty strict. Do your sh** and you should be alright. Watch out for the tests because they sneak up on you. In 311 they are all about grammar, so don't remember any of the vocab words. She is kind of a b*tch sometimes so also beware but at times she is funny. She chooses favorites and I was not one of them.
