Comment:

Learning a foreign language should be fun. The use of it could dramatically increase your status in life. However, not many understand that. Especially this teacher. Her lectures are almost worthy of walking out on, her tests are difficult, and she does not respect her students enough to look at them in the eyes. I would not recommend this class.

I've never had a Professor who CLEARLY wanted to be ANYWHERE other than teaching. She needs to retire. She rolls her eyes often and makes you feel like your questions are foolish. I had to take the class over again with another Professor (whom I will rate). Fortunately I did MUCH MUCH better the second time.

ALL homework assignments are done online & you get 3 attempts to pass each assignment- making it easy for you to pass the class. You work with a new partner almost every class so you have a chance to talk with everyone. A little skeptical since the reviews were bad but I somewhat enjoyed this class and now have a better understanding of spanish.

Class is very laid back as long as you are on time and behave. Hw assigned is minimal compared to other professors, there are pop quizzes which are not bad. Two tests and the final isn't even comprehensive. She's nice and is open to answering your questions. Attendance and punctuality are necessary but why should that be a problem in college?

Do NOT Take this professor. I took this class as a last minute class to be a fulltime student and one I need for my major prep. Worst mistake of my life ! The class itself is cool, chill students and we always interact with one another but the professor is horrible. Rude, intolerable, not clear, gets annoyed easily. Oh lawd. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE!

My biggest mistake was not checking ratemyprofessors first before taking the class. I am not going to say much about this professor except that every comment I've read below are absolutely true, she's useless and hope other students read these comments before taking her class.

Horrible instructor! Pronunciation is sub par, at best. RARELY made eye contact with the class, constantly looking over heads towards the back wall. Extremely impatient with students who asked too many questions. More than half of class failed. Thankfully studied Spanish independently prior to this class so material was easy.

PLEASE dont take a class with this lady. I know spanish and she gave me a b just becuase I didnt use the spanish word for to take a shower and i asked her if i can use the word i am used to using. Oh yes if you want to get an A in her class all you have to do is sit in back on the room when taking a test and bring your phone. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

Horrible Teacher. This was supposed to be "elementary spanish" not Spanish 10 AP. quiz's are hard. She has to "OK" you making you knock on the door if late.. IM NEVER TAKING THIS TEACHER AGAIN. AVOID!!

This teacher has a friendly and low key demeanor, but the class and the material were VERY DIFFICULT if you have never studied spanish before. Teacher was not very helpful if you had an in- class question, better to ask her after class, if at all. STUDY, Do the Quia, and maybe get a tutor to help you as well, and you might make it in this class.

Save your Money, Pick another teacher at all costs. I had 3 years of spanish in high school and really enjoyed learning the language. This class was like going to war every night, rude remarks from her constantly when you try to speak the language. No patience, taught way over non-spanish speaking students heads. The worst teacher, no patience, no people skills. Elementary Spanish??? How about Spanish 25 more like it. For an entry level Spanish class she teaches way over your head and gets upset when you don't understand. Wasted a lot of class time speaking to spanish speaking students instead of doing her job and teaching non-spanish speakers.

Miss A. is an incompetent Spanish 1 Elementary professor. She rolls her eyes at students that give wrong answers and she treats all the 1st time speakers/learners like crud. She doesn't seem to understand that she is teaching ELEMENTARY spansih to NON speakers! In all, she's rude, bitter and disrespectful. Rosetta Stone is a WAY better option.
