Dr. Virginia Aldige has been one of the most influential professors during my undergrad. She pushes you to think critically. You will have to apply yourself to obtain a good grade in this class. It is worth it.

Dr. Aldige is by far the worst professor I've ever had at N.C. State. She is rude, ill mannered, and her class is a complete joke. It should be called the History of Medicine because that's all she talks about in class. She is a terribly harsh grader so you better read everything she assigns. No clear structure in her class at all. Worst class ever

Soc of Medicine? This class should be called Soc of mannequins because it really has nothing to do with medicine. This class is very liberal. All we did for a month was discuss socialized medicine. Tests are essays and have nothing to do with what she talks about in class. She is a very tough grader.

TERRIBLE Professor! She is extremely **** and goes off on tangents unrelated to class topics. I can't understand why NCSU has allowed her to teach for so long. She is a good example why tenure needs to be reevaluated

If you are looking for an easy class you can sleep through and still pass this is not the class for you. Dr. Aldige is very knowledgable about what she does, and is a very effective professor if you are interested in sociology. She grades hard and expects ALOT of her students. If you take her class seriously and work hard you will learn alot.

Such a fun and knowledgeable professor. I took her class right when the health care debate was going on and our class discussions were so interesting. Her tests are hard, short, papers. But she is so helpful. Speak up in class, visit her and she will help you when you're struggling. I learned so much from her.

i liked this class! it really opened my eyes to healthcare in america. tests are take home essays, and so is the final, so dont take this class if you dont like reading and writing essays. she is very willing to work with you for any extra help.
