Comment:

Dr. Martin is very sweet but I dreaded her class. I'm a sociology major and even I could not focus on her lectures--she goes SO fast and is not good at connecting ideas. I really feel like I didn't get much out of the class at all. Exams aren't too hard, but sitting through her class is like pulling teeth for me.

She is very sweet and interested in the subject, but I found the lectures very boring and saw no need to go to class. Read the book and go to an occasional class to make a good grade, but I would just suggest finding another teacher if you're hoping for an interesting class.

She is a very nice lady but very soft spoken. It did not help that I had her at 8am. If I paid more attention or been more awake then I would have done better on her tests. I got a C+ from her. There are probably better sociology teachers.

She is such a sweet lady. She loves what she teaches. The actual class is a waste of time to go to. She says she has an attendance policy but she never takes it, and if you can find somebody to sign your name when she randomly does, you're straight. The tests are verbatim from the study guides, so it's all an easy A if you make sure you study that.

Dr. Martin is the sweetest, most understanding, empathetic woman I know. She is so helpful and her class is extremely easy. One of the best professors I have ever had. I highly recommend her.

I loved this woman. She is such a sweet, sweet lady!! Her lectures were very straight forward and simple, sometimes boring, but not bad. If you take notes, you're SURE to make a good grade. Easy class with interesting facts too! Loved it!

I disagree with the comment below. I have learned a lot from her class! It is a great class if you are interested in counseling or family issues. The paper is not terrible because you work on it all semester long. Just don't procrastinate, read the articles she hands out, study lecture notes, and you'll have an A!

extremely sweet old lady. So cute! But her lectures are SUPER boring. LOTS of busy work. way more work than this class should be. she doesnt have any exams which is a plus but she gives 6 quizes and a huge research paper--which included an annotative bibliography of 20 sources!! i will never take her again. i really didnt even learn that muc

She does take attendance every once in awhile but I barely went and made a B+ so I'm sure if you put in more effort than me it would be easy to make an A. She says she tries to balance the romanticism the media gives us so sometimes it seems she is cynical, but she's trying to give a realistic answer.

Very nice old lady. She's really laid back in her lectures and is always willing to meet with you and help you out. You dont necessarily have to go to class, but the lectures, which are more like discussions, are interesting. There are 2 books but i never read them and did well on the tests. It's a pretty easy and good class. TAKE IT!

This woman is so cute. She speaks somewhat quietly and the whole class is lecture, but she tells you exactly what is going to be on the tests the class before so they are fairly easy. Have to write one paper and do chapter quizzes online but they really aren't that bad. I would recommend her.

I took Dr. Martin last semester for intro and loved her, so took her again for marriage and family relations. She is super sweet and sometimes her class can be boring but that is very rare. She generally has great stories to tell and you can't help but love her. I definitely recommend her if she's back next semester.

take notes + pay attention = easy A. She's a sweet, old woman with a soft voice. She's lecture-heavy, but the content is interesting and the tests and quizzes aren't much of a burden. I usually kind of half-way zoned and relaxed while taking notes and paying enough attention to understand the material. You ought to be able to take it easy in there.
