She was definitely passionate about teaching history. I took an environmental history course from her and i switched into the class very late, but she was very helpful getting me caught up. assignments were easy but there were many of them, and you really have to read the books or you won't know what's going on. she likes when you speak up in class

She's a really good professor. I took her course in women's history, and we covered many different topics besides women's suffrage. She did not return papers unless we asked for them; she sent us email comments on our papers. I especially liked the prof's enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject. Will take her courses again.

Not a very good professor. Stayed on topic very little. Women's suffrage took up well over half the class. Of three papers handed in (including a final paper) I only ever got the first one back.

She's really smart, and very excited about her subject. I learned more about history from her than I did from all of public school! She's a great professor and her class was completely worth getting up at 8:30 for!

What a great class. I love this professor, and I learned more in this class on the 1960s than I have in any class at Hiram College. Vivian made every day interesting. She brought in a Vietnam veteran, and she showed great films. The paper assignments were interesting, and she helped us with our projects. Vivian is outstanding.

Ever since she adopted she is so unorganized it's ridiculous. She has less of a focus in her classrooms. Her classes have been very disapointing. Lectures are boring as well. It seems the class is her and one student talking. that's it. ! :(

Has the luck of being the prof to teach the modern, or most interesting to most students. She can be a little one sided on her approach, but is open to debate if you make it. Otherwise, an excellent prof with great readings.
