Comment:
Prof. Steger gets a lot of criticism, but if you are a diligent student, you can definitely get an A. She's very organized and particular about lab reports, and you will do a vocab list every week. I believe her class definitely prepared me for upper level courses in Chem, and would take her again. Final is very easy if you wrote solid lab reports.

Even if you work and know the math portion, know the chemistry, her tests are worded oddly and can be confusing. No one understands her lectures and she flips through the powerpoint slides far too quickly without explanation. Prof, if you are reading this, please explain how to do something more before moving onto examples.

I had her for 152 Lab last semester. I thought she was very helpful and clear at explaining the labs. She's a tough grader though and makes you work for your grade. Aim for perfection at the start and earning an A shouldn't be so bad. If I knew how much of a hard grader she is from the start I think I could've pulled off an A. Earned a B (87%)

She teaches Chemistry for Chemistry majors, so come prepared to put in work. She isn't easy and often times she gets some of her answers wrong but like I said, it's Chemistry. It's taught at a fast pace, but she is always willing to HELP!!! I struggled making F's on her first exams but put in the time and came out with a B in the class and lab.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. She flicks through her power points and doesn't explain anything... and the she just says, "easy right?" She is the harshest grader and her tests are open ended, so if she doesn't love you, you're getting a bad grade. Don't expect any help when you go to her after class either. Seriously.

Just don't do it. Online homework was the worst thing for this class. The exams were ridiculous. Literally she never answers questions and never actually does problems in class. You are on your own. Don't say i didn't warn you...

This was a waste of my time, her answers are wrong half the time and the class is always correcting her. If you ask her a question, she will beat around the bush about it and redirect you to nothing. Her test reviews are NOTHING like what is on the test. She is absolutely horrible!

Save yourself the time and get a better Lecture professor. All the homework is online and it is very frustrating. I honestly learned more from lab than in lecture.

She makes you work for your grade. Really, really work for an A. She is precise and specific about how you do the lab notebooks. She provides a lot of help and assistance for whenever you are confused so make sure to ask a ton of questions. She was very cool and understanding. Would definitely take her again. Great teacher.

She is the most tough grader i have ever encountered. Silly things. She helps only if you ask once. You ask twice and she starts to think that you are not "smart". She is not a bad person but she is very squared. Class is not difficult but it would be better if she were to be more empathetic and willing to support students her final is brutal! 80q!

She explains the lab procedures clearly and politely. She carries her integrity and humor very maturely, and addresses the important parts of the experiments without taking up too much time. She is by far the harshest grader I've ever seen, but what makes her amazing is that if you work hard, you'll get the A and she'll respect you.

Her exams are not easy; however, she gives a lot of extra credits and also drops the lowest scores. HW is online and it really counts toward your grade (easy A). Her final exam is multiple choice as well.

She's a very nice teacher, very helpful; she gives a lot of extra credit practices. However, her tests are tough! As long as you do well on online hw and get average B on exams, you're fine.

I have her for both Lecture and Lab. She is a very good teacher but is a tough grader and her tests are not easy. She really makes you work for it. I do think it is too much work she gives for lab but if it is to prepare me for the 200 classes then I understand.

She is not super clear, but is really willing to help, and was MORE than patient numerous times with me in lab. She's super tough with labs, vocab, etc, but it REALLY prepares you to do GREAT lab work in future chem. I formed really good lab habits in her class and got a B at the end. Since when is Chem supposed to be easy anyways?

As a lecture teacher, she is very clear and it is easy to pass her class as long as you study a decent amount. Most of her homework is online and she is very lenient on tests, so it is easy to pass if you try. The lab was definitely the most work I've ever done for a credit, though.

She is pretty tedious in grading her lab reports, but after taking Chem 200L she actually helped a lot. Her seemingly harsh grading is the norm in 200. If this will be your only chem class go for someone easier. If not, she is great for preparing you for Chem 200 standards.
