Horrible Proff. Horrible Course. Do not take this if you do not have to. Not worth putting yourself through. I had to take this course..it was required for my program and if I didn't have to take it...I wouldn't. More than half of the class dropped out after the first and second lecture and after the midterm, a quarter of them dropped it as well.

So I received an A in the course which was surprising. I studied the night before for both exams. Pulled all nighters for both, but nonetheless, I did well. Easy marker. You need to know your stuff, though.

I don't understand why people are saying that his tests are hard. There's a lot of variety which is good. He gives multiple choice, true false, definitions, short answers and essays. I was sure that on the midterm I would receive a mark of 70 at max, but I received an 80! Hopefully I did just as well on the final exam!

Horrible course! Don't take it if you don't have to. Don't buy the text cuz it's useless. The guy can't lecture. I had no idea what was going on all term and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't do well/couldn't grasp the concepts. This guy is all over the place. His exams are HARD and the 2nd one is NOT easier. 1/3 of the class failed. BAD PROF!

even though I read that his 2nd exam is easier.. it isn't his 2nd exam was harder. He doesnt word his important questions correctly. dont buy the $120 textbk bcs it is useless, just buy his book and memorize it

Exams are mostly based on his own book (Affect and Action), a treatise that is complex and sometimes sketchy. The real textbook is rarely used as a backup for lecturers, so don't count on independent study.

Exams can be very hard, and are 80-90% short answers, so not much MC if that is what you are good at. However, it sounds like his 2nd exam is often easier than the 1st, so do not despair. Anyway, very interesting and nice person, so talk to him if you get the chance. Very interested in his students, very approachable, and always willing to help.

Make sure you read his book!!! The entire class is based on his book, Affect and Action. Also, the first exam is very difficult. Be prepared to study who said it, and what they said. Last exam was pretty easy once you had a taste of his testing style. I got a B+ for my final grade.

The prof. is a very nice guy, and helpful if you ask for it. The class has nothing to do with HR, so if you're in HR Mgmt, don't think that this class will benefit you. Prof. says 'um' and 'ah' a lot, which is quite distracting. Exams are based largely on his lectures, so don't miss any classes!

A very sweet man, but hard to stay on track b/c his lectures are all over the place. Ask lots of questions if unclear & come to all lectures. His exams are very heavily lecture based w/ text really just supporting what he says. Very willing to help students who have concerns.

He's a nice guy, but once again, his exams are very hard. There are only two exams, one worth 45% and the second worth 55%. Tests are based primarily on lecture notes and memorization. Be prepared to study every single word he mentions in lecture.

He is a friendly, easy-going prof who seems to be willing to take time out for his students. Unfortunately, his exams are very difficult, and borrow heavily from lectures, which doesn't justify the $150 spent on texts. Emphasizes HIS take on motivation so take good care of what he says for the exam.
