This guy is fantastic. Hardly any students showed up to class but I and about 4 others did. He used examples from the book and takes questions from emails and demonstrates them in class. Go to class, keep up with homework and he respects you enough to answer your questions. He doesn't respect the people who only showed up for test dates.

most of the lectures I can barely keep my eyes open, he's so boring! Despite that, he knows what he's doing even when seems lost(just his way joking) not so eager to help out when I went to his office couple of times.

A good professor. His lectures were very laid back and he kept the material interesting with a few jokes. His handwriting and drawing abilities aren't the best, but he knows the material and does a good job of teaching it. His tests weren't easy, but if you did the homework and went to lecture, they weren't too bad. All in all, a good professor!

Method of teaching is an acquired taste. It works for some and others didn't. Most of the time I just taught the information to myself out of AP notebooks I had from high school. Class isn't hard if you took AP courses in hs. I wouldn't recommend Edelstein.

Horrible teacher. Will not listen to reasoning or anything. If he remembers your name then you will get called in class every day. It is funny to see him in class, but worst teacher I have ever had at IIT. RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN

He flails his arm everywhere, all the time, mumbles to himself half of class, and then talks to us like were expected to know what he's teaching. half the time im sleeping in class, and i just teach myself when i get back to my room using my book. he's easy if you know calc, but i would recommend someone else if you really want to learn math.

He mumbles to himself half of the time & the other half he waves his arms around, yelling at us to try to understand when he should just be teaching properly. He doesn't finish the example problems & his tests are a few questions at a bunch of points and he loves to take off points. He doesn't help you very much when you ask either. Don't take him!

Decent professor. Make sure to ask if you have a question because he tends to lose his train of thought and skip material. He's hilarious if you bother to pay attention.

He is the funniest professor at this school! The faces he makes are priceless, and you BETTER BELIEVE IT! You will understand that after you have had a class with him. Love the class and it's easy to learn the material. Easy to get an A in as well

Quite possibly the most ridiculous looking man ever. Also the craziest. I spent most of my time writing down quotes of his, studying his mannerisms and listening for one-liners. When I did pay attention though he was easy to understand. Handwriting is absolutely atrocious and he never uses the same notation twice.

Edelstein is a great teacher. His ability to "deftly" switch between dry erase and chalk modes is astounding. Tests are very fair and are similar to the homework.
