The subject matter is pretty tough as theory usually is. Keep up with the readings and go to class! He's very helpful and willing to work with you to clarify the readings and theories as long as he sees that you're making an effort. Three big papers and that's it.

Excellent teacher. Very helpful when you actually go to his office for help. He will look over all papers for you and tell you what needs to be done to get a better grade. Excellent class discussions. Loved the new thoughts, opinions, and beliefs I developed from this high endurance course!!

Mr. Goldstein is obviously very knowledgeable in this and other areas. Class is not straightforward. He "ramble lectures." That makes it a bit difficult to grasp what is being discussed if you're new to the subject. However, it is not an impossible class to pass. He has 3 paper assignments throughout the term, and is somewhat fair in grading them.

He's very particular on the three papers which are required and it's nearly impossible to understand what he's saying. Definitely my least favorite class and professor.

Funny and interesting professor. He gets slightly off-topic sometimes talking about politics or his family, but manages to provide a connection to the material anyway. Class meetings are discussion-based, but the books and subject are interesting so it's useful. Thought-provoking class.

In general an easy class if you do all the readings, know how to write passable papers and participate in the discussions. Can get a B. If you write awesome papers, definitely an A. Lots of reading though, but he's fun

Smart, witty man who knows what hes talking about. He seems scarey at first, but stick with it. The class is actually very interesting. Three papers, chances are you will get a B in the class.

He went over *all* kinds of sociological theory. Even though it's a lot, keep up with the readings. He knows his stuff really well. Nice and helpful outside of class and will verbally give comments on your drafts. Recommended if you are ready for some actual thought and understanding.

He knows his stuff-the class itself was very hard. Only three papers. Very unlikely the averge person will get an A. He does tend to answer questions with asking questions. Sometimes, its like he wants us to take over and answer, while he listens.

If you're into sociology, theory, and philosophy, you're going to love Goldstein. Classtime basically consists of discussing the reading; he teaches very much in the Socratic method. READ THE MATERIAL EACH DAY so as not to get behind, & you will do fine.

The class itself has minimum homework- we read A LOT all semester and discuss the reading in class.your final grade is only the average of 3 papers and they are NOT EASY to write- DEFINITELY NOT a course to be taken for an easy A. wish i hadn't taken it.

i had him his very first semester at UCF. he had no idea how to handle a large class and by the end of the semester had the majority of the class with low C's, which forced him to put a huge curve on everyone's grades just so we all wouldn't do so poorly.
