The first couple of weeks were spent analyzing Hungarian poems, but then we got into four really interesting novels. He is very helpful during office hours and for each test, he provides a study guide that is very similar to the actual exam. Show up to class, ask questions and stay off your phones. A bit boring, but worth it. Great professor!

Professor Kraft is a great guy and he really wants his students to do good. You read Hungarian novels and the first 2 weeks you memorize Hungarian poems. I didn't learn a single thing. His class lectures are sooo boring and he doesn't explain stuff very well. Recommend NOT taking this class especially since attendance is mandatory and no phones.

I was told this would be a class about literature masterpieces... You memorize Hungarian village songs for the first two weeks. Then read 4 novels with a test after each. Very interesting man, obsessed with communism and eastern Europe. Have fun trying to survive the crazy lectures, at least two canvas notifications a day, and stash your 'gizmos'!

This is more of a book club type of class. Kraft likes Hungarian novels. You read and discuss the novels assigned. There are tests after each novel. If you actually do what you're supposed to do, it's an easy class. As with most anything, you get what you put into it.

Everyone's too harsh on him. He's a fascinating person with lots of great stories. The books are a little confusing, but the lectures clear everything up. He tests on the lectures, and the lectures are based in the reading, so just do the reading and come to class and you should pass. Overall, a good professor and a fun and easy class.

Kraft is an interesting but boring professor. It's hard to not fall asleep during lectures but the class is easy in general. Just have to read a few novels and take four or five tests over the quarter.

Kraft mac & cheese was quite a goofball. In all honesty his class seemed to go on forever. Also he cussed about 25 times each class...I kept a tally going. Shows how much interest I had in the subject matter. There was lots of reading and I had to write 2 pages of what I found interesting each week. Overall he's a pretty easy grader though.

Kraft is very kind and can be really funny, but mostly his class is very boring. He rambles on about things that have no relevance to the class or the text which is really frustrating when you actually have questions about the book. Often he'll put motifs on the study guide when he doesn't even know what they mean.

Coming from an 18 year old male I'd rather watch the young and the restless and listen to kesha before taking this agonizing class. Tests have no relevance to the content at all. Just memorize the study guides and show up for attendance points. In other words, get the grade and move on to paradise.

I haven't encountered a professor so terrible until I sat through a quarter of Kraft. The daily class lecture should be renamed to babysitting. I read every book twice, and still his tests were impossible to interpret. If the words "oranges" & "middle east peace" don't make logical sense in your mind then never take classes from this horrid prof.

Very nice teacher, kind, funny and quirky. The literature choices are terrible, all about oppression and the lectures will not make the books seem any better. Easy class; but if books with no point or reasoning bother you, don't take this class! The lectures aren't often on relevant points, which can be annoying, but attendance is still necessary.

Feels more like a book club than a class. Really easy if you go through the text again after you get the study guide, it's basically finding what he wants and all the test look the same. Get a good study guide going and you'll do fine. Nice guy, gets off topic a lot though, haha.

I don't understand a test where over half is based on what professor Kraft interpreted from these "masterpieces" I can't read minds and nor can the rest of the class that sits there staring blank at the man who rambles about his trips to Transelvania and makes you look at pictures of himself scooping hay for a solid hour of class. Horrible.

Professor Kraft is a great teacher. At times his class can be boring but his crazy seemingly crack induced antics make him very entertaining. He really cares about his subject and will challenge your views on literature. He is very intelligent and speaks multiple languages. If for no other reason take this class to see his AWESOME mustache.

Basically he comes to class on LSD, and his 'masterpieces' that he chooses are all terribly written from people in other countries. They have awesome cultural significance, but this is a literature class, and the literature he chose sucks.

He's really odd but a totally nice guy and definitely approachable if you have any questions, the class was ridiculously easy and I don't remember learning anything, you basically come to class and tell him your thoughts on the reading, or you can just sit there and do whatever it really doesn't mattter.
