Truly the Dean of California painting! As a student during the 1980's, he provided a philosophy and foundation for my work that exist to this day. As a professor of art, I am proud to pass on these same traditions to my own students. On a more personal level, he lent me strength during my most trying times. A monumental figure in my life.
