As a professor, I have to say that he's a bit hard to learn from. Notes are hard to follow and kinda scattered. However, I thought he was a great person. Good sense of humor and you can tell that he actually cares

Dr. Yang, as a professor, is less than desired. His lectures are vague and on a very high level. He really lacks the ability to teach the material down to those who do not understand the material. His office hours are very limited which makes it hard to get help. When it comes time for quizzes and tests, always do his practice problems.

He is very knowledgable and tries to show us the real applications of calculus. Take his class if you expect to use calculus after graduation. If you're not willing to put time and effort into the material his class may be difficult for you, he doesn't go by the book like others. Nice study guide for each test and a few extra credit opportunities.

As a math major with a near perfect 4.0. This guy will be my GPA killer. Very hard to understand, his sentences and lectures are fragmented. Like he would jump to another topic without finishing the current topic. Expects too much from you, and there's a test every two weeks (7 Full fledged tests a semester). Most students talk behind his back...

Breezes through course material, not enough time to write notes during class, unable to multi-task both listening and writing easily. The book that is required by the university is used only for homework. His tests and quizzes however are streamlined to his website, which give you practices tests, but with no answer keys. Get smart buddies.

He is a very good teacher, had him for calc 2 and 3. He explains calculus in a very easy-to-understand manner. He will help you if you need it, and if you are interested in calculus he will definitely quench your knowledge thirst. Calculus is a hard course and you have to try hard, but if you really try he won't leave you behind.

I suck at math but I got a better grade in Yang's class then I did in Pre Calc and CALC 1. He's sometimes hard to follow but gives a bunch of extra credit.Make sure to show all work on quizes and he will give you a lot of extra points. He's very inspirational might I add. He makes math fun and tries to get you to understand the concept

Yang is an smart teacher. He tries to make the class entertaining. He learns students name. He is also a very difficult teacher. He can be hard to follow on the board, and doesnt give explainations for his math. I would recommened to a math major, but nobody else. If you arent interested in math or arent strong in math he will be difficult.

Dr. Yang is by far the most inspirational math teacher I have ever met. He makes math fun. He teaching style is easy enough for the average student, but he wont hesitate to challenge the brightest students. He is a great teacher and it would be a shame to pass him up for someone else.

Dr. Yang is an incredible teacher. Not only is he willing and interested in everyones personal interests and ways he can help people accomplish their goals, but he is the only math professor I have ever had that can actually make class fun and interesting. He is extremely inspiring and helpful, and truly an inspiration in the math world. Take him!

His accent isn't terrible, but it is there. Sometimes he is hard to understand. His note a scattered sometimes but not too bad. He doesn't do a good job with answering questions in class. He will laugh at himself and kinda skin over your question. Test aren't extremly hard but not easy. He drops lowest quiz and moves highst quiz to be a test.

Hard Teacher. He is very hard to understand and his test aren't formatted correctly. He knows what he's doing, but his website is useless. He uses file types that aren't available on a regular PC and only accessible in a few places on campus. Avoid signing up for him.

Great person, ok professor. One thing I do like about him is his desire to see his students succeed! If you attend study groups and make an effort he will help you in his grading. Sometime he FLIES through certain topics but as long as you take good notes, it's not impossible. Was not an easy class, nor an easy teacher, but its definitely doable!

Take someone else, especially if you didn't take calculus in high school. His notes are extremly scattered and confusing. He's a nice guy, just not the best teacher. Our only grades were a few tests and quizzes. He spent most of the time teaching us how to use "classpad", but then expected us to be able to solve things by hand. Not recommended.

Must spent some time for this class. If you attend his class regularly and if you are good at math, will not have any problem. Must do homework problems. I always attended his class and I did homework problems, I did not have trouble. He will let you use computer for test, know the technology, and you will be in great shape.

I've had a lot of Yang. He genuinely cares about his students and wants us to succeed. He's a hoot in his upper level classes, but also a little crazy. He teaches well, but also expects you to really know the material, which some might interpret as him being a hard teacher. If you're interested in learning math, Yang is a good teacher for you.
