Strongly suggest not to take this class, find another teacher! She gives out a lot of assignments. She also takes away points if you respond to discussions a day early which is news to me since its not campus class. Not to mention the quizzes are horrible. Half the questions are not reviewed through work, better luck using phones 2 search!

Ive taken this prof for comm100 and 105, both during intersession. You need to put in a lot of time for both classes. The videos assigned are long, the questions take a while and the essays in 105 arent hard but just take a lot of time. If you cannot put in a couple hours of work 4-5 days a week then dont do intersession.

She is amazing. If you don't skip the class it'll be great for your test, but don't worry if you miss the few classes because she post all the presentation and videos on blackboard. Just follow the rubric and show your effort on paper than probably you'll get an A for your assignments. Don't miss EC, tests might be tough.

Prof Nelson teaches exceptionally well. I enjoined the class even as a history major. The class is an easy A, do the extra credit, totally worth it. My particular class was unruly, which she isn't strict so it'd get out of hand sometimes, but none the less I enjoyed the lectures. Put in some work and it'll show in your grade.

Prof Nelson is a decent; she at least gives some feedback on assignments, which is appreciated. If you just do the work you will get an A, but be ready to write! Lots of lengthy papers, but most of it you can reference from the answers you used for the weekly discussions. She offers plenty of extra credit too.

Nelson was probably my favorite teacher this semester. She's extremely nice and always gives you the chance to add to the conversation. To pass tests: come to class and pay attention, and study from the book what is listed on her study guides. Aside from a few small papers, homework is minimal, and lots of EC is given. Enjoyed the class, take her.

Her class is a mess. She has a course schedule but that doesn't really help since her disorganization usually constitutes to switching around due dates. And what's up with her never replying to emails? This is an online class? She also gives an overwhelming amount of work with limited time to work on it. Overall easy A as long as you do your work.

Tests are EXTREMELY difficult. However, if you complete the study guides then you will probably get an A. I spent 4-5 hours doing each study guide and there are 4 exams. You must do the study guides if you want an A or B. Textbook is a must-have, but can be rented or purchased used. Extra credit for current events presented in class. Good luck :)

Very inconsiderate with others people time, unorganized, incompetent, sets up unrealistic schedule even herself have trouble following as she always "behind schedule" and unresponsive with emails. Certainly, a red flag not to take her class online.

Unrealistic schedule!!! You will be watching 50-80 mins video 3-4x a week. Discussion MUST response to 3 students or 0 credit, 3x a week. Homework will have 5-7 questions & need to answer at least 550-700 words or 0 credit, 3x a week. Beside that, she have specific time when can you & not response to students or you'll effort will be 0 CREDIT!

This is an online class should be design for student to have a convenient time. Nelson makes it harder as her class is the only class you are taking for the sem puts specific time when cancannot submit your discussion online even student post their answers already. Also, does zero interaction w student as well as poor in comm, no emails responses

Prof Nelson is OK. Her class is fairly easy as long as you put in effort for the assignments, study, and do the extra credit (lots offered). She is very nice but her lectures are pretty boring. She takes forever to get you the studyguides and is a slow grader. Overall, her class is easy. Show up to class bc she takes roll. I didn't have the book

This was a very easy-to-pass class. I don't mean easy, though - if you don't participate, don't study and don't do the work in a timely manner, you won't pass (duh?!). People who complain must not have read the syllabus. Flow of the class was easy to navigate, schedule kept me on track, and discussions, tests & study guides relevant and helpful!

I took this as an online course. It is pretty straight forward with a lot of reading, but not very hard. The main complaint is that she constantly says she will have this graded by this date or an assignment posted by a specific date and she almost NEVER does. It takes her a long time to grade anything and she does not respond to email well.

There's a lot of work in this class. Every week there is an hour long video followed by a discussion board. She gives you literally ONE day to watch the video and post on the discussion board. Also, there is A TON of reading. At end of the semester u have to write a 100 (10 pg) paper and the next week another 100 pt paper on all the readingsvideos

Really clear cut class, weekly assignments (include normally and hour long video and response on discussion board) as well as responding to classmates. But only 3 tests (makes you drive to campus for them though that kind of makes it hard) and only 3 assignments. As long as you participate weekly and do all the work its easy!
