Wendy is a really good professor who is very knowledgable. Her huge CBM project is one of the best projects I have ever done, and she grades you based on how much work you put into it. She is a very tough grader, especially for participation. I spoke in every single discussion and was never late for class-- she gave me a B for participation.

I thought she was a great professor. She is the reason I changed my major to Special Education. She does give random quizzes, and if you read the textbook and review your notes you will pass the quiz. Exams are quite easy, just make sure you study. She does take attendance so make sure you attend. Overall, I was always excited to go to this class.

While this is supposed to be an easier freshman level course, I took it and thought it was rigorous for what it should have been. There was so much information covered and her two tests were impossible and really killed my grade. Everything else isn't bad but she isn't nice and her class is overall boring.

She is a good professor. She is a tough grader, but she does not care for the students. She demands that you raise your hand in a lecture of 200 people, and if you do not, you get points taken off. You have to do a project and present it to the entire class. If you are a second late to class, you get points deducted.

Wendy is really passionate about the topics that you cover and she is really knowledgable. You really do learn a lot if you go to class, do the readings, and pay attention. Her quizzes and midterm are hard, but you'll be fine if you study. The group project takes forever. Pay attention and PARTICIPATE and you'll do well.

This professor was ridiculous when it came to the midterm. She grades your final project on what you received on the midterm. She was rude to students who had a doctors note. She summarized the chapters in the book that we had to read the night before. Take the class in the summer if you can. Less weeks you have to deal with her.

Wendy is pretty great. She is friendly and I enjoy the lectures. She talks about a lot of stuff she won't test on. Inflexible when it comes to the topic presentation attendance, so don't miss it. Quizzes are important, they add up. Lecture attendance is important. I learned a lot of useful stuff!

This class was so pointless. You go to class, she talks about pointless information. You need to memorize everything early on. The project is so long, and so time consuming. She tests you on stupid information that is not relevant to SPED. Try and take this class with a different teacher if you can.

Try do get a perfect score on your midterm because the grade you receive on your HUGE project is effected by whatever you received on the midterm. So basically you miss the midterm points TWICE. That grading technique is about as useless as this class. I've heard about her ring and Akron job more than anything else.

I have never had a more difficult time in a course before. I'm afraid to think of what my final grade will be. I don't feel that her instructions are clear AT ALL. If you can, please take with another prof. I've never felt so insecure about my progress in a class before.

This professor is a passionate and committed educator who makes every effort to provide relevant examples from current events and policy. I would highly recommend this instructor. If you are looking for someone easy who is not going to challenge your views or require that you USE what you've learned, DON"T take her classes.

Wendy is an EXCELLENT teacher. I have taken her online workshops and I always end up learning more than I expected. She is thorough and thoughtful in her choices of topics and is very approachable. She can be "tough" but that is the hallmark of a good teacher, someone who helps you to grow and see a different point of view.

Awful, Awful, Awful!! Wendy is very hard and talks alot about Akron City Schools. She didn't focus as much on Deaf Studies as I wished. Her tests/quizes are incredibly hard and she has questions on the them that you didn't even go over in class. If you have her READ, STUDY, Memorize EVERYTHING, that's your only chance to do well.
