Comment:

Mr. Orser is definitely a teacher who will push you to your limits. That being said I, he is the best teacher I ever had at Clark. He pushed me to become the math student I am today and I can honestly say I wouldn't be where I am without him. Also, he tells great stories! Don't take his class unless you are serious about math and will work hard

Comment:

There were a couple of times where I had conflicts with the class. I got so far behind in that one day, it was impossible for me to catch up. His tests and quizzes are confusing. Use caution when signing up for this class. It can kill your grade if you don't understand math.

Comment:

Worst teacher I've ever had. I generally get all As and Bs in my class, so i'm a pretty good, attentive student. However, Orser was insulting and rude. He belittled you for not knowing what to do. I do not reccomend him at all! Even if his class fits perfectly with your schedule, rearrange your schedule. If I could go back that's what I would do.

Smart, nice guy. Very hard teacher. Grades homework by randomly collecting it, usually on the day you didn't do it all because you had to work. Only 10 or so students left on last day out of 30 on first day. Basically hands out withdrawal slips to students. Tests are very hard. Doesn't answer HW questions but tells long pointless stories.

Very hard teach, would never take his class again. Grades down on homework, and does not go over homework questions. He teaches well, but how he gades will kill your score on any assignment.

Not a horrible teacher, did some review. Can be somewhat funny, but the hardest teacher I've ever taken in my life. Crazy grading on tests, even on a curve. Good at math but had to drop with an F. Homework isn't to bad but he hardly ever collects except on suprise, which kills your grade if you don't excel at his test. Please, don't take him.

One of the hardest classes I have taken. It's a fast paced class. If you don't get something the day it's taught, you'll fall behind and suffer for it. Homework is rarely collected, so most of the grade is based on tests and quizzes. If you have test anxiety, this isn't for you. As a teacher, he is a little rude and often talks down to the class.

He is an okay guy to deal with, does have a sense of humor. We use the textbook everyday for homework so make sure you have it. He almost never collects homework, but he won't warn you if he is going to. Very fast paced, and he grades on a curve so if you have a low score, it may not be as low as you think. I'm at 65%, which is a B.

He is really smart and strives to challenge all is students, but it was to the point where it was extremely stressful for me. Deffinitely the hardest class I've had at clark, I never had test anxiety until this class. If you are REALLY good at math you should do fine with him, but otherwise find a different teacher. Don't skip, you'll fall behind.

Engaging to a respectable degree given class time limits (only 50 minutes). Is truly a FAST paced class but he could lessen the # of times he reminds us. Lots of homework (duh you do want to learn this right?) but! he hardly ever collects it. For me this is hard as I don't test well. Know his time is limited and there are other options for help.

not an all around terrible teacher, he does have his own style, and thats much faster then most A-students (including myself heheh) pace and its VERY easy to fall behind, his homework consistency is what killed me in his class, its awful but thats not enough to condemn him. just be sure to cross your i's and dot your t's and youll be fine

Very hard to suceed in his class. Makes students feel stupid, half of his class is a history lesson rather than math. DAILY homework which he RARELY collects to grade (5 times a quarter) The worst part about him is his teaching style. Also, he is very boring. Wes Orser is a mean person who belittles his students.

Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have a very likeable personality which makes it uncomfortable in the classroom. You easily feel stupid in his class, and he's a hard grader. I still hate how he hand wrote all his tests/handouts.

It's pretty simple. If you understand math, you can take it. It won't be easy all the time, but you can get a good grade. I am an english major and I got a B. If you don't like or understand math why the heck would you take the class and then tell everyone how awful it is? Of course it would be awful if you hate math or don't get math. Duh!

AWFUL! I can't stress enough how bad of an instructor he is. Never in my life have I had to learn math the way he teaches it. He gives tests like its a writing assignment about math rather then actual math problems. 2/3 of our class had dropped within four weeks and he won't help you at all! Ugh I did not like him. He was a terrible teacher who was highly offensive, always repeated his jokes. He honestly made me want to bash my head up against a wall while I was in his class. Word for the wise, DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Best teacher I have ever had. Took Wes's class for math 111 calc 1,2 and received a B in the first and an A in the later 2. Present material with great clarity and aims to teach student understanding not how just to P&C. I highly recommend his class to any science or math majors, but the rest of you should look elsewhere cuz you will probably fail.
