Comment:

Hernandez is pretty intimidating, and even his 120 class was taught entirely in Spanish. Keeping up on the homework and being prepared every day is EXTREMELY important. He's also quite funny and much more approachable one-on-one - I suspect he just prefers teaching higher-level classes rather than intro courses, hence his irritation during class.

This class was very easy but I also saw my Spanish improve greatly. Hernandez is a great teacher if you're already decent at Spanish, but I would not recommend him if you aren't ready to speak and hear only Spanish. If you do the work, you'll get a good grade. He's a great teacher and very funny. I would for sure take him again.

Professor Hernandez is decent. I learned some Spanish and did well in the class, but his style is not fun. He is condescending in class, lacks respect, and I feel bad for the students that aren't favored. He tends to grow very frustrated with students who require extra attention. I would take him again, but I would avoid it if possible.

Had him as my comp advisor this past semester. It was insanely difficult, but he offered excellent corrections, and got me an A-. Without the amount of work he had me do, I would have barely scraped a B. For other classes, too, it's the same. Super difficult, but worth it in the end.

Hands down my least favorite professor ever. He is extremely condescending during class and picks favorites like crazy. If he doesn't like you, be prepared to be yelled at for no reason. So glad I only had to take one class with him.

I really enjoyed this professor; he makes complex subjects seem simple and I feel like I learned a lot. Except... maybe I should have said I DID enjoy him until he assigned us a freaking EIGHTEEN PAGER PAPER over finals week. One week. Finals week. Eighteen pages. I recommend you never take an upper level course with him if you value your sanity.

Wilfredo is very intimidating at first. He speaks very rapidly and has a semi-ridgid schedule. He tends to pile on homework a lot in random intervals. Despite this, all the work in his class has drastically improved my spanish skill, and he's actually a very nice man and a wonderful professor.

Best spanish teacher I have ever had. Slave driver, assigns LOTS of reading, exams are 12-15 pages of written spanish; same for the final research project. Discussions and presentations also part of your grade. Extremely constructive in his criticism. Terrifies some shy students, but an excellent guy. Very openly gay, conservatives beware.

He's a great teacher. He has an awsome accent and is obsessed with sex, which is great! He is soooo funny too! One of my classmates did a powerpoint presentation with a guy's picture on it and he said, "oh, he's hottt!" And we all looked at him and cracked up. Wilfredo shocks you into college spanish and he is tough. He is clear in what he wants done and when it is due. I went to him with questions and he helped me and i was probably the worst student in the class. Now i'm a spanish minor and i still go to him for questions. Great guy! I had him for a smaller class though, seemed to care about students.
