pergl is very nice, quirky soft spoken guy although he is pretty spacey. The subject matter of eye mind image culture (tutorial) was great...he was just flaky at times. If he comes back to grinnell I'd def. recommend him.

very kind man who really makes the classes interesting. i learned a lot. although i wish i had taken my intro art history before i took this class because he often references works that i had never heard of. LOVED IT!

Fun and interesting classes if you can get assignments done on time. He sometimes will forget names of students. Has clear feelings about the works created by students but often holds back on criticism unless the student realizes the quality of the piece.

Wired guy, but after all i like him. Your grade varies with his mood, if you happen to take a class at in a semester when he goes crazy, then your grade can't be too good. Smart, artistic guy, but a little too wired to be a professor...

He is an artist and very visual, so it's difficult for him to verbally articulate sometimes... one of the best art profs at Grinnell -- but often overlooked. Like other art profs, he can be blunt -- though the bluntness is usually correct...
