Get ready to get the pants scared off of you the first month of 1L in Torts. But after you realize that this exceptional woman drills the class with the hopes of you completely understanding the material, the fear is replaced with respect. She's funny and the best dressed on the campus. I look forward to taking her again. Favorite 1L professor.

Some of these reviews are very ill-founded. McLean definitely required the most amount of preparation for any of my 1L classes, but that's because she does her job and does it well. I rarely spoke in class but she never made me feel uncomfortable. I would take several more classes with her, highly recommend.

Her class was rather boring. She covered an unbelievable amount of material throughout the semester, much of which took a great amount of time to comprehend. Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of that material was left off of the final exam, which consisted mostly of a single subject matter repeatedly being tested.

She is tough but fair, a bit (read: A LOT) intimidating. If you read and are prepared for every class there is nothing to worry about. She genuinely wants her students to do well, but can also sense if you didn't read and WILL call on you. She's awesome. Closed book/note final is scary but she prepares you well for it.

Great professor, but no cake walk. You will learn a ton, and work hard, but will know the law after you take her class.

When you hear that dreaded line, "can you unpack that a little". You know you're in trouble. She is very tough, and gave the only closed-book, closed-note exam I had in law school.

Great professor, with a well-earned reputation for being old school. Those who complain are likely the ones underprepared. As a 1L, if you think you're not going to be under the gun, you're not being reasonable. If you can't take the heat, go get an MBA from Quinnipiac. Law school isn't for you.

Just horrible. She enjoys pushing around 1L's; make sure you play along. And she cares way more about whether you have memorized the end-notes to a case than the importance of the case in the grand scheme of Torts. Too bad you can't pick your 1L professors!

She will make sure you keep up with the reading, and will quiz you on details. Heavy participation. But she is kind, and funny, and wants you to understand. Hard grader on the exam. I expected to do better. Generally an enjoyable experience

Prof McLean was my Intellectual Property professor. She does not seem to know the material well - which is strange because this is her field of expertise. She seemed incapable of answering questions accurately and clueless about anything that was not in the casebook. Exam questions were mostly outside the range of class materials and discussion.

I had Willajeane for Torts. It was definitely my favorite 1L first semester class. She made class very clear and easy to understand. Personally, I did not find her intimidating. She does call on people randomly, so you HAVE to be prepared for class. She also gives the best encouragement speech the last day of class!

She is intimidating, but she is good. A very difficult grader, though, so keep up on the material and start studying early. Be aware of her sum up of the previous class at the beginning of each class session, as it is useful.

This seminar-sized class should have been lively, engaging. Instead, she conducted it as a boring old lecture. Highly educated and obviously brilliant, but her teaching style and rapport with students leaves much to be desired. Her instructions were unclear and grading was far too stringent. Shame!
