Judge Ervin is an amazing person, he knows so much about the law and cares for his students. He unfortunately has a hard time sharing his knowledge. Having this class for 3 FULL hours was unbelievably boring. The powerpoint slides do not cover the material well at all, and Ervin's voice is monotone. He needs to put excitement in his course.

Judge Ervin's class is boring. Lectures are straight from the powerpoints and he reviews straight from the exam. If you want an easy A, he is your best bet, but as a pre-law student, I was disappointed to not actually have to write or learn much. The one cool assignment we had was to do courthouse observation and write a reflection paper on it.

Excellent professor. Fair grader, clear speaker, and very helpful. I took the class in a once a week format, so skipping was never an option. He gave a quiz once a week, and drops your lowest two. Minimal homework, so pay attention during lecture, the book helps a lot with studying.

Great guy, I never thought I would enjoy this class as much as I did. I mean it wasn't super interesting but i did not mind going to class, it was pretty easy and all you have to o is the assignments and study a bit.

Judge Ervin is a great professor! Always in the best interest of the students. I always enjoyed coming to class. He lectures straight from the power point so it can get a little bit boring. Uses real life examples that a college student would understand. Do the study guides and show up to class and you will do really good. I recommend him!

Come to class EVERYDAY + Do the extra credit + Pay attention in class the best you can for the quizzes at the end of class + Stay for the reviews for the exams and write down everything = Get an A. Class might get boring but Judge Ervin knows his stuff & you can learn a lot from him....while getting a good grade. One of my Top 3 best teachers.

Didn't like the class. All he did was read over the powerpoint almost word for word. However, he went over basically the answers to the exams the class before the exam. So if you write down what he says, you'll do great on the exams. I found this out before the final exam and got a 65/70 on it. Definitely a boring class and subject though.

The fact that Ervin is a judge does not surprise me one bit. He is really dry, but his class is easy if you read the pp's and book material. Quizzes are easy because he has them at the end of class and went over the material previously so it's fresh in your head. Just be attentive and you'll do fine.

Very great professor. He is a Judge in the county, so with his experience in the field helps relate lecture topics in real-life settings. Very smart, fun, and a class act. Ervin conveys law to his students with ease. Just go to class, take notes, and listen to him. Go to the exam review as he tells you every question. Lots of xtra-credit, great guy

Judge Ervin is the nicest man! He really cares about each one of his students and wants them to do well. He offers a ton of extra credit and it is almost impossible not to pass. He gives quizes almost every week and never let out class early (only downfall). Go to the exam reviews!If you need to take this class, take it with Judge Ervin!

If you stay for review the class before the exam, he basically gives you the answer to every question on the exam. One big group project/presentation, but it's super easy (if you get nervous to get up in front of ppl, don't worry, it's nothing). Gives some extra credit. Good UP to take. Prof is very approachable.

Hands down the best professor at central! It says a lot if a professor can teach a 3 hour night class that students want to be at! He is super nice,understanding, funny,knowledgable, and interesting! Seriously, I want to add a minor just to take more of his classes! Im going to miss himmm!! :(

He's awesome, pure and simple. Judge Ervin goes over the entire exam the class period before, so if you stay after class and fill out the study guide it's pretty much a guaranteed A. The courtroom visitation extra credit will boost your grade up a whole half letter, and it is actually really cool to do. Take Ervin for sure.

Judge Ervin is an excellent teacher! You will definitely learn a thing or two and the coursework is pretty simple. Either a quiz or exam every class (if you get the night class). It sounds bad but trust me, the quizzes are easy and so are the exams. Take Ervin for sure! A++
