WF is all around a good prof but his lecture style can be difficult to follow as he goes off on tangents and writes irrelevant words or pics on the board. Lots of reading but you have to read in order to do well on T/F quizzes. Quizzes were a bit difficult & very specific. Final paper and final exam were not too bad but it was a lot of material.

Lectures aren't really organized in a specific manner and WF often goes on (funny) political tangents. Lots of readings but necessary to grasp in order to do well on the few grades there are. Restates a lot of what he finds "important" from various readings which will likely show up as essay questions on exams. Boring content, cool guy, not bad

French is an amazing professor. he's super engaging and funny, and he really makes you excited to go to class. his quizzes are a little tough, but the tests are easy and he grades papers leniently. definitely take him!

Honestly one of the greatest professors I've ever had! He's extremely caring and passionate about the material. He makes the class enjoyable and this makes you appreciate the material being covered. I absolutely loved this class! There is a decent amount of reading involved but it was interesting in my opinion and definitely expanded my knowledge.

French is a great professor. He is really funny and engaging. The only thing you need to do in this course to get an A or B is the readings. DO ALL THE READINGS. 4 QUIZZES, MIDTERM, FINAL AND PAPER. The bad thing about this course is that midterm paper and final are 30% each so dont screw up. The course is interesting and relevant and he is nice.!

French is the best!! He has really funny, engaged lectures but he doesn't use PPTs so be ready to listen! There are a lot of readings, but he details the most important parts of each reading in class so I got away with not reading everything by taking close notes and showing up. 2 tests, 1 paper, quizzes. (FYI he's liberal and non-religious)

Professor French is honestly amazing. He is a really intelligent guy and is so passionate about what he is teaching. I wasn't expecting to like Theology, but I ended up really enjoying the class. Make sure to take notes during his lectures: he really drives home the main points of the readings. Also make sure to do the readings for his quizzes.

Definitely a good choice for an ethics core professor. Lectures were a little disorganized, but not impossible to follow. Assigns articles and reading from books which are interesting and related to his lecture material. Gives true/false quizzes on the readings. One midterm and final exam. Had to write one final paper. Overall a good class.

Very knowledgeable in the subject matter he is teaching. He keeps the class engaged in the lectures. I took this class on line and would defiantly take another online class with him again. Fair grader and willing to work with you.

Really chill class. The only reading you have to do are the ones that concern his T/F quizzes (which can be challenging even if you read and take notes). Lectures were sometimes dry, but I liked French. I laughed in most classes. He allowed us to write a letter for our final paper, which was cool. I'm sad our "field trip" was cancelled.

Only teacher I have rated. TAKE HIM! Professor French is honestly so nice, his class is really chill, he goes over all of the readings in class and highlights the main points you should have picked up on. He is a very quirky guy but he grows on you! He took us on a fieldtrip to the zoo just because. He is hilarious without even trying! Easy A.

William French is one in a million. His lectures are extremely interesting and are about relevant topics. Although he may seem opinionated, he throughly defends his standing points on issues and accepts student criticism well. Attending class is not necessary, but you just might want to. Great personality; highly recommend.

He's a weird grader. A lot of people in my class who studied a lot and read all of the material got really bad grades and people who didn't do anything got good ones. He's pretty helpful but his lectures are kind of rambley and he has high expectations for essays.

He is a really nice guy. He often goes off on tangents and lectures by writing one word on the board and circling it many times. If you read all the material and pay attention during class it's an easy A. Though his grading methods can be confusing sometimes.

He shoves his opinions and views down your throat. He doesn't teach and instead just whines about politics and religion. If he had a filter, his class would at least be mediocre, but trust me, there's no filter for this man.

He has no requirements for attendance. You can often afford to miss class and still be completely fine on the quizes midterm and final if you follow his study guides. He's funny and very down to earth. Sometimes he goes off on tangents, but I thought that was his only downside.

This class requires you to read a lot of books and articles; however, you learn a lot from it. 4 quizzes, 1 is dropped. Mid-term, final, and a paper. He goes over much of the the readings, so it is helpful to attend class. The essay portion on the exams is not easy and requires intensive understanding of the readings. It is possible to get an A.

Class was boring and grading for assignments seemed random. Often got off topic. Ended up talking about Christianity for the entire semester. Don't take if you want easy core. And if you have a prior knowledge of ecological problems you'll be bored for 3/4 of the class.

I have had 4 courses with French including a Tutorial. He is the most engaging Prof at Loyola and always has me laughing. The number of people who do not miss class affirms this. Wish he taught more upper level classes.
