Take Bills sarcasm and cynicism with a grain of salt. He is an excellent professor, has an incredible knowledge of the subject matter and an enthusiasm for the world of economics.

I read the 10 pages of comments and some are hilarious!! It seems over the years a lot of people hated Bill's teaching. The 'hmmmm' thing you forget after a while. He is VERY opinionated and does above the class. Still for a colouring book university (CBU) he is probably one of the best profs in the place. Just read the book and pay attention and y

Indeed, Gallivan is very cynical. He is like a 15 year old trapped in an 80 year old man's body. Avoid if you can so your money doesn't go to waste.

Economics teachers ought to be teaching young people how to get out of the worlds most economically depressed areas, such as Cape Breton, not stay in them, unless youre the type of traditional righteous guy who just likes sending dollars to Sysco.

Bill most be on here rating himslef. His class average marks for tests are either 50's or failing grades! But of course it's not a reflection of his teaching... it's purely "students who don't care about school and are wasting their parents money".

Knows his stuff inside out and explains fairly well. The way he speaks to his students is border line abusive. He's very cynical. Always has some smart remark for something or someone.

Professional, ethical, fair, marks everyone's tests equally regardless of whether or not he dislikes any of the students, very helpful, and is very intelligent as shown that he knew his stuff and from how well he writes.

Amazing professor, I assume that most negative comments are coming from students who don't care about being in university or learning (and truely are stealing their parents money). It makes learning so much easier when a professor takes as much pride in a subject as he does. Hands down, the best professor I've thus far in university.
