Disorganized wreck. Participation is huge part of class, but going to every class counts for next to nothing. If you don't sit in the front, he doesn't know you are participating even if you answer questions. Can't read handwriting to take notes. Can't have your phone out, gets upset if you go to the bathroom except on break.

The subject was interesting but I couldn't focus at all in class because he was too busy bathing himself in chalk dust. His handwriting is terrible, but I got a good laugh out of reading his emails with all the grammar mistakes. Tests are fairly easy, so is the rest of the class as long as you can write a good paper every now and again

He was very unorganized. His outline notes do not have coherent sentences or thoughts. He also was late to post review guides that were promised to be posted at least 6 days before the exams, instead it would be 3 days if lucky.

Ask questions! He is very informative. His study guides are intense. Partner up someone and work on the guides together. If guides are well done the test are easier.

THIS PROFESSOR IS AWFUL. He is completely disorganized and inconsistent. He is very nice, but his disorganization RUINS the class. He makes a very interesting topic of sociology extremly boring and not worth the time. DON'T TAKE IT.

He may not be the best looking professor but you can tell he is really passionate about sociology. The test books are interesting and his test are pretty easy as long as you know the basic terms.

Did not like. Terrible handwriting, cannot read board. Disorganized, extremely slow at getting things graded. Everyone always has problems with his grading, he does math incorrectly when grading. Terrible grammar, yet counts off for it in papers and tests. Misspells and mistypes EVERYTHING. I am extremely disappointed with this class.

He's a very nice prof, but very boring. If you take this class, I would NOT suggest taking the longer section (2 hr and 40 min). I agree with other posters, the tests can be challenging, but are fair, and he's always willing to go over the answers for you afterwards. He's always glad to help!

This class is not hard but requires taking good notes. The exams are tough but fair. The teacher is laid back and knows a lot. He is goofy but I enjoyed him as a prof. You write a relatively easy paper. I liked the topics discussed. Very interesting course. I will get at least a B without breaking a sweat.

A little quirky, but a great guy. Lectures over all material that will be on the tests, even over out of class readings. Very Nice. Very Helpful. Bad handwriting but all you have to do is ask and he will tell you what it says :o)

Professor Gronfein is an amazing teacher! He definitely knows his stuff and makes the class very interesting! I would recommend him to anyone!! I'm assuming that those who are too preoccupied with his coughing weren't taking the class seriously.

I agree with the above poster - he's a little befundled but super nice and tries hard to make sure everyone understands everything. Tests are mixed (short answer, essay, fill in the blank, multiple choice, etc..) and not overly difficult if you attend and pay attention. He does stray from the text during lecture, but the test covers a lot of text.

He's a little befuddled, but he makes topics very interesting. The exams are pretty easy if you go to class and study - he does teach outside the text, so you need his notes. I'd recommend...
