Go to class. Work with your pigeon everyday. READ HE TEXT BOOK. Dont miss debriefing sheets. Do extra DDS. Put in the work. Palya is a piece of work and possibly one of the craziest people I have ever met. I made an A in the class but I had to study for the quizzes. WORK WITH YOUR PIGEON otherwise this class will be very hard.

If you're a psych major than you have to take 221, but it's rough. You have to work with your pigeon on a daily basis and sometimes no matter how much you work with your bird it still won't do what you want. You also have to write long, complicated lab reports all the time. Really difficult but you have to take it.

This class is pretty easy. As long as you look over the textbook before the tests you'll be fine. Most of the time in class is spent with Palya lecturing us about things unrelated to what we are learning. He believes he has all the answers in life and wants to tell you about them. It was amusing at first but it got old by the end of the semester.

Show up, read the book, and take the quizzes every week and you will pass. You don't even have to listen to him to pass. He spends the entire "lecture" period degrading all other majors and all other areas of psychology besides behavior analysis which is the only thing the entire department teaches. He also basically has a god complex. Repetitive.

He really isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. You have to be respectful of the professor in every class. You cannot be late, be disruptive, or be dishonest in his class. He locks the door when class begins. He really cares about his students, and he wants them to succeed. Quizzes come straight from the book.

Although Dr. Palya is very strict and bluntly rude at times, he is a great teacher. Just show up for class ON TIME, NO CELL PHONES AT ALL, and study your terms! He will alarm the door in your face of you are late, but it's actually life lessons to carry with you. Come to class, pay attention, and stay on his good side. You will pass easy if so!

I do not know why everyone complains about him. I took him five years ago, and it was a great class. If you come to class everyday and read the material, you will do well, plain and simple. You can't expect to come to college and not go to class or study and make A's. He is strict about being late. No cell phones; be respectful in any class!

Though Doctor Palya's classes seem fairly straightforward, he's surprisingly pompous in the way he presents his material, making you purchase his own textbook and recite answers back to him on exams word for word. Talks down to students, makes class stay until end of period even if lecture has reached its end, often runs over. Avoid if possible.

Gives a quiz each week which is basically book definitions. Lets you drop 3 quizzes (you can include the final as 1 of the 3 drops). Makes you turn in notes every class, don't have to be detailed and lets you drop 5 of those. Really strict about cellphones, but overall one of my favorite classes by far. Made an A in lecture & lab.

I just finished Palya's class this semester! He is a good teacher and has a funny sense of humor. He makes class interesting! YOU MUST READ THE BOOK IN ORDER TO HAVE AN A. He gives quizzes weekly and they are mostly easy, esp. the first one! YOU MUST COME TO CLASS!

I enjoyed this class. He always had good examples and was willing to explain things if you needed him to. tests are easy as long as you read the book. I suggest taking the little quizzes after each section, it helped me make an A or B on every test.

Dr. Palya teaches you on what you need to know to make it through life but he doesn't teach what is actually on the test except for the class before the test when he is flipping through the slides fast saying this is all in your book. You have to have this coarse with him so study the book & definitions at the end of each chapter or you'll fail.
