Bill Steele is amazing. Hes an extremely talented teacher as well as director. Plus I find him very attractive. And he has a smoky speaking voice, which is fun to listen to too. Take his classes!!!

Class consisted entirely of on the job speech giving, which I felt was of more value than the traditional "this historical figure gave speeches like this" format. You'll give speeches every other class, and if you practice ahead of time, don't say "um" and don't squirm around in fear, you'll do well. Steele gives useful hints after each speech.

I am so thankful that I took this class with Professor Steele. He inspired me to speak about subjects that I was passionate about. He critiques every speech and gives pointers on how to improve for the next speech. The critiques helped to improve my speeches weekly. Definitely take this class during the summer.

I'm glad I had prof. Steele for Public Speaking. He made it much less painful. He's not overly critical and just wants his students to be able to stand up and give a speech w/out shaking or saying "um". You just need to practice your speaches before giving them and you'll do fine.

I took Public Speaking to satisfy my fine arts requirement, and I am very happy I took it with Professor Steele. He's a super guy, connects with students, gives critiques of their work in a CONSTRUCTIVE way so as to encourage rather than intimidate. Everyone in my class was about 1000 percent better at speaking by the end of the semester. Makes you pick REAL topics to speak on, which I think is important. I highly recommend his class.

Urgh, Public Speaking. I ended up improving a lot in this class. Prof Steele offers good sound advice that really works. If you follow it you will get A's! He will praise you if you practice at it, but will point out if you are slacking (which many do). Great guy, I really like him.

Bit of a ball-buster, but this class was very profitable. Thanks to Steele, I went from a nervous, mumbling, shy public speaker to a confident and assertive one. Highly recommend public speaking with this prof. Don't be sensitive, though.

He was a great teacher!! So laid back. He just wanted us to get up there and give the speeches, show improvement where he told us to, and try. All he asks is that you try. He was very down to earth and normal. Wish there were more teachers like him at USM
